The Clinical Advisory Board is composed of distinguished experts in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, anesthesiology and critical care. These leaders bring decades of experience and a wealth of knowledge that will support CoMind in its mission to Redefine the way the brain is measured and treated to optimise patient outcomes across the care continuum.
The members of the Clinical Advisory Board include:
Howard A. Riina, MD, is the Lucius Littauer Professor and Vice Chairman of Neurosurgery at NYU Langone Health and Director of the Center for Stroke and Neurovascular Diseases. He is an internationally recognized expert in the cerebrovascular and endovascular treatment of vascular conditions affecting the brain and spinal cord.
Ramani Balu, MD, is an Attending Neurointensivist and Director of Research, Critical Care Medicine, Inova Health. He specializes in neurocritical care and improving patient outcomes. He has a strong focus on improving patient outcomes in the intensive care setting and is involved in cutting-edge research in neurocritical care.
Chris Troianos, MD, is Chair of Anesthesiology at Cleveland Clinic, focusing on cardiothoracic anesthesiology and perioperative echocardiography. He has been instrumental in developing practice guidelines that enhance patient safety and outcomes during cardiac surgery and improving understanding of perioperative economics.
Andrew Kofke, MD, Professor at University of Pennsylvania, is an expert in neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care. Dr. Kofke is a recognized authority in neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care. His research and clinical practice focus on the management of patients with complex neurological disorders, particularly in the perioperative and critical care settings.
David Segar, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Segar is neurosurgeon-scientist and expert in the surgical treatment of epilepsy and disorders of brain function. His research focuses on linking brain signal with quantitative measures of human function.
Mary Kay Bader, MSN, RN, is is a highly respected clinical nurse specialist with expertise in neurocritical care, brain injury, and stroke management. She is also a Fellow of the American Heart Association and Neurocritical Care Society and has been a leader in developing nursing practices that improve patient care in critical care environments.
John Gallagher, DNP, RN, Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing with research in sepsis and evidence-based practices.
Marc Bloom, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer at CoMind, Clinical Professor at University of Miami, is an authority in brain monitoring and neuroanesthesia. Dr. Bloom established the original intraoperative brain monitoring program at University of Pennsylvania. He is a past president of the American Society of Neurophysiologic Monitoring.
