In November we held an International Men’s Day event, to highlight men’s wellbeing and to explore leadership, vulnerability, and mental health. We welcomed Mike Bates as our guest speaker, as he shared his incredible journey and walked us through his life experiences, from joining the Royal Marines to launching a platform in which his mission is to change the conversation surrounding men's mental health. Mike’s session left us with a profound understanding of what it means to be an effective leader and how to build a resilient team. Nous étions ravis d’organiser un séminaire à Paris et de réunir nos courtiers partenaires pour discuter du cycle de vie de la gestion d’un sinistre. Nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir Romain Dupeyré, avocat associé chez DWF (France) AARPI, qui a rejoint nos spécialistes techniques senior en sinistres, Davinia Grigorieff et Liliana Grossu et notre responsable institutions financières, pierre charbonnel.   Le thème du petit-déjeuner était le cycle de vie de la gestion d’un sinistre: ensemble, nos intervenants ont exploré les étapes clés du traitement des sinistres - de la notification à l'indemnisation en passant par l'instruction - illustrées par des cas pratiques dans le domaine des institutions financières. La séance a souligné l'importance d’une communication efficace et d’une véritable collaboration entre les assurés, les courtiers, les avocats et les assureurs pour une gestion optimale d’un sinistre.   Un immense merci à nos partenaires courtiers présents et à Romain Dupeyre pour son intervention très appréciée.

Recently, the Joint Natural Resources Committee (JNRC) hosted marine and energy underwriters in the Lloyd's Old Library. The session covered the recent work of the committees and provided an overview of the group's ongoing activities. Our Risk Control Consultant, Dr Soondus Moorhead, recently spoke at the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Hazards 34 Conference in Manchester, presenting on 'Risk Appetite in Heavy Industries: An Insurance Perspective'. It was great to see Soondus covering a range of key topics including specialty insurance, risk appetite, risk capacity, and process safety whilst also discussing the challenges surrounding risk transfer in new technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture. Later this month, 27 November, Soondus will be presenting at the members webinar for the Hazards Forum. Our team in Milan spent the day volunteering at Fondazione Banco Alimentare Onlus, a local food bank dedicated to supporting families in need. It was a rewarding experience to help such a meaningful cause, and we're grateful that we can give back to the communities we serve. A heartful thank you to all the volunteers for making the day so impactful!
