At The Clothworkers’ Foundation, we are working to create an equitable society where all can participate and thrive. Our mission is to support charities and social businesses that work with marginalised and disadvantaged people and communities. Through our grantmaking and social investments, we work with and provide funding for organisations that are meeting urgent needs, creating future opportunities, and building better systems for people across the UK. 🤝 We are deeply concerned about the widespread disorder and violent racism that so many across the country are continuing to experience. We stand in solidarity with those who are working to make our communities safer and more equitable, and we remain committed to our goal of working towards a society where structural and individual barriers to equality, inclusion, and opportunity are dismantled. Today, we urge everyone to keep themselves safe; check in on family, friends and colleagues; and look for ways to support your community during this time. 👉 Citizens Advice: https://lnkd.in/eEr9YP2S 👉 HOPE not hate: https://lnkd.in/eHZiC9p3 👉 Report a Hate Crime: https://lnkd.in/eRrTG5e 👉 Mind (seeking support for mental health): https://lnkd.in/eUnj6_K

In the past year, our and Patron Capital’s Women in Safe Homes fund has continued to make good progress in providing safe homes for women and children, with a 157% increase in the number of women housed this year, compared to 2022/23. At year-end, seven out of the fund’s nine housing partners had properties tenanted. In total 183 women and 80 children have been housed this past year. This compares to 71 women and 33 children housed last year. This increase is representative of the operational ramp-up achieved by the fund in 2023, helping more vulnerable women to have a safe home and receive the support they might need. In response to the devastating week of rioting, racist violence and disorder, LocalMotion has created a Resource Hub – a dedicated centre of established organisations, informed research and best practice to support those individuals and communities who need immediate support. At LocalMotion we have been actively listening to the voices within the communities that we work with, finding ways of how we can best support people during this time. What was clear is that people wanted to be able to access a comprehensive list of information and useful resources to help them deal with the racial violence they have experienced. People wanted to know how to remain safe in their own communities. Everything listed in the Resource Hub is aimed to support communities and to provide a comprehensive and compassionate response to these recent traumatic events that have taken place. https://lnkd.in/evAYqpPa

We would like to say a big thank you to The Clothworkers' Foundation for their generous grant. Through the Shout UK text messaging service we are able to support the mental health of hundreds of thousands of children, young people and adults every year, by harnessing the power of a digital platform. This grant will help us fund the continual improvement of Shout's technology, so that we can better the user experience for our deserving texters. We are very grateful.
