    Friday night in the bar...

It's SO good to talk. Friday night in the bar, just like old times. Kate Blakeley and I met up with a few ex-Diageo and Guinness colleagues in the heart of London, and it felt great. Over a particularly delicious Tanqueray Sevilla and Fever Tree tonic we reminisced, compared notes and felt the true power of communion (pint of Guinness anyone?) The brands continue to be amazing (you can’t beat gazing at a well-stocked back bar!) and it is so much fun to kick the weekend off with mates. And you are right Jason Sennitt, I did cut your hair off 😂 .

Where do your work relationships stand on a scale of 1-10? If you juggle lots of work relationships, it's likely that some are productive, collaborative and effective. While others are more difficult to navigate. Thriving in your role involves building strong connections within your organisation. ✅ When relationships work well, colleagues are accessible, open to new opportunities, understand your perspectives and priorities, collaborative, and make faster decisions. ❌ With some work colleagues and partners, it can be difficult to engage, prioritise what you need, get into someone’s diary, unlock budget, innovate, and much more. We’ve all been there, and it can feel frustratingly one-sided and unrewarding. Click Communicate’s Boost Your Business Partnering workshops enhance relationships across all levels. We motivate, challenge, and empower teams to excel. ➡ Book a free 30-minute call to discuss your team's relationship needs. I love learning, it’s such a treat. In fact, if you said I had to go back to full-time education, I’d probably be pretty happy (especially if I could study something like Greek mythology or a language).   But what I don’t love is the thought of squeezing learning and development into a packed diary. And if a workshop involves pre-work, I feel a mild sense of panic at when I'll get it done.   We’re currently creating a client workshop and are aware of the pre-work curse – but we KNOW it will add to the learning experience if we can join it all together.   How do you feel about doing pre-work? And what transforms pre-work from a chore to a gem, in your humble opinion? I've worked in PR for a long time, but the thrill of seeing a brilliant piece of coverage never gets old for me. Working with the team at DAPS Agency and the brand teams at Accurist London and Sekonda is so enjoyable and we're delighted that our client Janet Gough feels the same. “We are absolutely delighted with this Accurist coverage in Red Magazine this month. It positions our brand amongst a range of (much more expensive) watches, is stylish and the perfect title for our consumers. The week it appeared, we saw sales of this Rectangle model top the best selling women’s watch of the week and sales rose by 83% in September vs August which is purely down to the impact of such great PR’ Janet Gough, Head of Brands, Time Products #brandpr #greatcoverage #accurist #sekonda

Do you work in a complex organisation? Or manage lots of relationships?   Business partnering, whether a formal or informal part of your role, is essential to getting things done.   When relationships work well, colleagues are more likely to be accessible, understand your perspectives and priorities, collaborate, be open to new opportunities, make faster decisions, and enable the delivery of your agenda.   It’s also a lot more enjoyable.   On the flip side, some relationships are much harder work. It can be difficult to engage, prioritise what you need, get into someone’s diary, unlock budget, innovate, and much more. We’ve all been there, and it can feel frustratingly one-sided and unrewarding.   Sound familiar? Then Click Communicate’s Boost Your Business Partnering experience is for you. We can help you to influence key people, and invest your time and energy efficiently to engage them effectively.   Working with teams big and small, we develop stakeholder insights, and bring these to a fully immersive workshop to explore your relationships, build skills and confidence, design tools and templates together, and unlock better processes and ways of working to make business relationships a success. Our one-day, face-to face-session will motivate, challenge and empower you and your team to operate with impact and help deliver your organisation’s performance ambitions. Don’t just take our word for it – here’s what our clients say. To find out more - just send us a message on LinkedIn. We’d love to help.  #relationships #businesspartnering #learning #learninganddevelopment www.clickcommunicate.com

I love books. Always have (I was the odd one out in a family of dyslexics). It's so shocking and sad to see how the banning of certain books is unfolding across America, books I've read and loved like The Kite Runner, Water for Elephants, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Handmaid's Tale (in my top 3 of all time). The idea that someone could decide on what I could or couldn't read is so alien to me (in Iowa they are using ChatGBT to scan books and select the ones to ban because they have to adhere to the legislation but don't have the funds to implement - it's madness). And so to one of my other loves, PR. I recently came across this brilliant PR activation by Penguin Random House to highlight the book-banning issue. Enter Margaret Atwood (author of The Handmaid's Tale) stage left and the unburnable book. See what you think. https://lnkd.in/eGAzkqiJ
