It's #PinkFriday and this week we’re admiring a striking pink installation by Cyril Lancelin. Composed of stacked inflatable shapes in a pyramid formation, this structure in the gardens of Hôtel du Golf Barrière in Deauville, France invites visitors to step inside and explore. Known for his unique approach to merging sculpture and space, Cyril Lancelin's latest work highlights his fascination with repetitive geometric forms and inflatable materials.

Icon's Autumn/Winter 2024 issue is out now! ICON 216 explores the theme of performance, drawing inspiration from dynamic showcases seen throughout the year, including immersive installations and experimental dinners. This issue features works that challenge boundaries, from Robin Day’s iconic seating at the Royal Festival Hall to Studio Saar’s flowing spaces to Albert Kriemler dressing dancers for the contemporary ballet Epilogue. Plus, on the cover we feature the work of Oskar Zięta, whose discovery of a new process for inflating steel has led to a panoply of intriguing work. Expanding the success of a collaboration between Ben Adams Architects and Fora on Montacute Yards in Shoreditch, 20 Station Road in Cambridge stands as the flagship addition to Fora’s growing portfolio. Set back from the road by borders and a row of trees, the seven-storey block has a Gault brick façade drawing on East Angelia’s vernacular architecture and a top floor surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows. It was pre-let to flexible office providers Fora, who in 2022 merged with fellow workspace providers The Office Group to create a workspace supergroup. Architecture and art studio Naoonaoo has unveiled "Barbie Mountain," an installation located in Suzhou's Huqiu District, designed to breathe new life into an aging commercial area near a residential community. The installation consists of 40 pink acrylic bubbles intended to evoke a sense of imagination along the city’s waterfront. The prominent pink hue symbolises various emotions across different times and spaces, capturing the morning light and glowing under the midday sun or moonlight. #PinkFriday

From a coffee bar covered in thick road paint to a room divider inspired by Japanese landscape paintings, Faye Toogood’s design for the new Hato studio, shop and café on the Golden Lane Estate in the City of London inspires with the unexpected. Hato, a publisher, printer and design studio, has recently kitted out its ground floor workspace in collaboration with designer Faye Toogood and is now celebrating the opening of its in-house concept store and coffee bar. Established in 2009 and based in London and Hong Kong, Hato specialises in brand identity, design and digital production across the creative industries. In 2020 it launched its first concept store, originally located in a cobbled passageway of Coal Drops Yard behind King’s Cross. With clean, simple, self-assembly designs by notable designers, and a focus on transparency, sustainability and ethical values, Copenhagen-based TAKT is remaking the way we buy furniture. All the materials used in the collection – from the FSC-certified solid timber, water-based lacquer and limitedly processed linen, wool and leather to the recycled polyester textiles and recyclable mono material foam – have been 100% eco-certified. All the designs are reduced to the smallest possible number of components for self-assembly by the customer, lowering transport costs, while the joinery has been meticulously thought through for ease of assembly as well as comfort and visual impact. Full of nostalgic touches and modernist accessories, Tonen Agency's inspired design for Copenhagen Food Collective’s new Hotel Bella Grande is pure fantasy. Hotel Bella Grande, which opened in the spring, follows on from Tonen’s 89-room Parisian-style Coco Hotel. For that one, which opened in 2021, Tonen’s founders Malene Bech-Pedersen and Mette Bonavent mixed modern and classic aesthetics, using vintage and new pieces. As well as these two ventures, Cofoco also operates 18 restaurants across the capital. Read more about this week's #PinkFriday here: https://zurl.co/gxsd
