Led by Dr Dexter Wiseman, Clinical lead for the project at our Trust! #ChelWestProud Congratulations on the shortlist team 👏
Can we transform the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea to be faster, cheaper, more equitable, easier for staff, and more sustainable? Another win for #implementationscience. Thrilled to have our work recognised as a finalist for the 2024 Health Service Journal Awards. Collaboration in NHS North West London and crucial support from Imperial Health Charity 💙 made it possible to rapidly redesign and deploy a new straight-to-test pathway using Acurable's AcuPebble SA100 technology for OSA diagnosis. The result: ⏲ Faster diagnosis 🚗 Fewer patient journeys 🙅♀️ No reliance on racially biased technology (pulse oximetry) ⚡ Automated results analysis (liberating staff time) 💸 Huge cost savings 🌳 Drastic reduction in CO2 footprint (fewer journey emissions and plastic disposables) Win or lose, this work shows that with the right partnerships, innovation in the NHS can go from idea to sustainably-funded patient impact at speed.
