But immediately after the live auction, we typically move into the pledge 💸. Here, the energy needs to change completely. This is the time to bring the room back down, help guests connect emotionally, and inspire them to give generously to the cause 🙏. By telling stories about the charity’s impact and why their support matters, we create a moment that tugs at the heartstrings. A successful charity auctioneer knows when to ramp things up and when to dial it back—it’s all about reading the room and keeping the focus where it needs to be at each stage of the event.
