📢 We are delighted to announce that Delfini, our 100 MW solar PV project in Greece, has reached commercial operation. ⚡ The project will generate 157 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to powering 58,140 homes and avoiding 65,300 tonnes of CO2e emissions. 🌄 The project has been built on mountainous terrain and connects a 2.5 km 33Kv MV (medium voltage) line to a 33/150kV HV (high voltage) substation (110MVA Trafo). 👩🔧 It includes a 10km network of overhead lines, consisting of 29 overhead line towers connecting the project to the grid network. ✍ The project is underpinned by a long-term private power purchase agreement (PPA) with Axpo, making it the first such project in the country not to leverage Greek government subsidies on electricity costs. Delfini is also the first renewable project in Greece to have benefited from the Next Generation EU Recovery and Resilience Facility.

It’s great to see that the Multi Use Games Areas (MUGA) that we helped fund, close to our Larks Green Solar project, is proving more popular than ever! The MUGA has now been awarded a grant from Sport England to help fund a wide variety of sports groups that use the games area. It is particularly popular with the local primary school, family groups (including one who held a football party for their daughter) – and of course, people enjoying the new pickleball craze! Iron Acton Parish Council said, “We are very grateful to Cero Generation for their generous contribution to the first phase of the MUGA development. It has begun to yield results far greater than we had even envisaged! The site is still free to use & we hope to keep it that way so that the local community can access sport in challenging economic times."

📢 We have reached financial close on a portfolio of five solar projects in the Palencia region of Spain, with a total installed capacity of 244.7 MWp 🙌     🏛 Financing for the construction of the portfolio has been secured by a consortium of third-party lenders – Banco Sabadell, Rabobank and ING - who are highly experienced in the Spanish renewables market.    🏗 With financing secured, construction on the projects will commence imminently. Elmya and Metlen Energy & Metals have been selected as EPC contractors and LONGi Solar will supply the solar modules.     👷♀️ Over 200 people will be involved in constructing the solar projects, leading to the creation of local jobs during the construction phase.    🌳 As part of the project development programme, Cero will support conservation programmes in the Castilla y Leon autonomous community over the coming years.    🏛 Cero is grateful for the support it received in progressing these projects from the Municipalities of Becerril De Campos, Perales, Husillos, Monzón De Campos, Herrera De Pisuerga, Páramo De Boedo, San Cristóbal De Boedo, Villaumbrales, and Grijota.    🌞 The five projects are expected to deliver more than 480 GWh of renewable energy per year, equivalent to powering close to 150,000 homes and avoiding over 175,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions and deliver biodiversity net gains at each project site.

#Energy #Fotovoltaico #Agrivoltaico

Members of our board and management team visited our Larks Green solar project ahead of the launch of the first solar and battery storage co-located facility to connect to the National Grid network. The 50MW solar project near Itchington in Gloucestershire was developed alongside our UK partner, Enso Energy. The project went live in April 2023, making it the first solar PV project in the UK to feed electricity directly into the National Grid’s high-voltage transmission network. And we have now taken delivery of the SolBanks BESS modules, with installation of these now at an advanced stage, and expected to be operational in the Autumn of 2024. The introduction of a co-located solar and battery storage project is important for allowing power to be delivered to the Grid when it is needed, coupling demand and generation. The development of these projects will help to reduce the cost of energy for households, while also reducing the UK’s reliance on fossil fuels.
