While progress has been made, the work to improve gender diversity in venture capital is far from over. The recent Level 20 European Gender Diversity Report reveals encouraging progress for women in private equity and venture capital but also spotlights areas that still require urgent focus. The report, which analysed data from 13 European countries and compared it to 2022 data, found: 👉 Nearly 1 in 4 investment team members are now women 👉 Representation of women at senior and mid-levels has grown by 4%, reaching 14% and 26%, respectively 👉 The number of all-male investment teams has dropped from 38% in 2022 to 26% this year While these advancements are promising, the report also highlights that 20% of firms still have no women in their local investment teams. To achieve long-term change, the entire ecosystem must continue to prioritise retention, career progression, and inclusivity to drive long-term change in gender diversity. Wednesday evening sparked candid and insightful discussions on the challenges and aspirations of women in VC.
