 It’s official… Butcombe Original is the South West’s favourite beer!   We couldn't be more proud of all our teams that have helped us to achieve this. According to the latest CGA data Butcombe Original is the number one cask ale in the South West in terms of both volume and value, driven by it's incredible rate of sale.   It's a massive testament to our brewing team who work tirelessly to produce a high-quality range of cask ales but also it's been a real team effort from the sales, distribution, marketing and support teams. We are really pleased to have announced the reopening of the iconic Punch Bowl in Mayfair following a stunning refurbishment with brand new interiors on all three levels and an exciting menu. The Punch Bowl is welcoming a new chapter where great food and drink sits at the heart of its offering. Now offering a completely new food and drink menu from breakfast through to lunch and dinner and with an extensive range of new wines, expertly made cocktails and award-winning beers. The food menu, with breakfast starting from 8am every weekday, has a real focus on dishes that champion the best British suppliers and seasonal offerings with some classic dishes but plenty of dishes to surprise and delight customers. Arranged over three floors The Punch Bowl has been reconfigured to now feel like one collective space with the same menu available throughout. Decorated in warm natural hues complemented with jewel coloured upholstery in a palate of rich blues, teal and rusty red, the entire space is warm and welcoming, but with each floor offering a totally different ambience. The ground floor embodies a traditional pub atmosphere where guests can enjoy a drink of their choice, either at the bar or tucked away at a table. Continuing from the ground floor the middle floor is perfect for relaxing with friends, family and colleagues with comfortable armchair seating create a convivial dining room feel where everyone is welcome. Sitting at the top of the building is a space for private dining and events. From intimate dinner celebrations to office gatherings and family reunions. We love it when all the hard work and dedication pays off! Our brewing team has cause for celebration having scooped three Gold medals at this year’s prestigious British Bottlers’ Institute (BBI) Competition 2024. We won Gold for Butcombe Original, Rare Breed Pale Ale and Goram IPA Zero. What an achievement by the brewers to achieve three gold medals for three very different and distinct beers. Well done to Mike Jordan and all the brewing team.

The Brown Cow, Fulham re-opened recently with a total fresh new look, and taste. The introduction of an all-day offering means The Brown Cow will now be able to welcome people from morning until night, with dining and drinking options reflecting the time of day. The new window lined frontage will make the most of any sunshine, whatever the season. Inside the fluid and welcoming space is divided between the dining area where comfortable upholstered seating in natural earthy colours surround wooden tables and are combined with a selection of booth seating – ideal for a more intimate experience. In the bar area high stools border the main bar on the back wall and surrounding high and low bar seating creates an inviting space. The entire room is set against a colour palette of warm greens to create a warm and convivial atmosphere. We are so pleased to announce that The George Inn has been named the UK's best pub at the National Pub & Bar Awards. The George Inn, is an historic 14th-century Grade I listed Tudor inn, located in the heart of Norton St. Philip, near Bath, and was our first inn to join our premium rooms offering, Butcombe Boutique Inns, last month. Senior Sous Chef Aimie Harley was also recently voted Pub Chef of the Year at the Salon Culinaire awards. It's been quite a year already for The George Inn! All our Butcombe Boutique Inns are set in some of the best locations in the South of England, where guests will be receive a unique and extra special stay, a real home from home. With a truly personalised experience, where our guests will be able to get the most from their stays with us, whether it’s enjoying our award-winning hospitality or embracing local attractions and activities that our locations bring. We are so pleased to be announcing that two of our amazing chefs triumphed at this year’s prestigious International Salon Culinaire competition!   Aimie Harley, Senior Sous Chef at The George Inn, Norton St Philip scooped the top prize - Gold, in the ‘Pub Chef of the Year’ category while Tom Moore, Head Chef at the Horse & Groom, Charlton came a close second with a Silver.   We are so proud of both Aimie and Tom, working under the added pressure of a live theatre to produce with such creativity, flair and skill, dishes that really impressed all the judges.
