    Introducing ‘Made in the UK’, a new series championing Burberry’s commitment to supporting British manufacturing.    The series begins with a focus on our Heritage collection, which comprises four signature fits – the Chelsea, Kensington and Waterloo Trench coat plus the Camden Car Coat.     Made in Castleford, where Burberry has operated a dedicated manufacturing site for more than 50 years, every element of the designs requires the skill and expertise of specialist craftspeople.     In 1879, our founder, Thomas Burberry, revolutionised outerwear by creating gabardine – a weatherproof and breathable fabric which was designed to protect people from the inclement weather.    Gabardine became the fabric of choice for the pioneering polar explorers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including British-Irish Polar Explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton on his three Antarctic expeditions.    To learn more about this revolutionary fabric, please visit: https://lnkd.in/e5P2Gjpn

    More than a century ago, the Burberry trench coat was born and has remained at the heart of our collections ever since.    Many of the original details feature on our Heritage Trench Coats today, like its gabardine fabric – a water-resistant cotton weave that was invented by our founder Thomas Burberry in 1879 to protect people from the weather.    We weave gabardine at our Burberry Mill in Keighley, Yorkshire, and hand-craft our Heritage Trench Coats at our factory in nearby Castleford, using over 100 individual processes.   Discover more about the evolution of our trench coat here: https://lnkd.in/dGm5CsNT

    Shot in the Oxfordshire countryside, the Burberry Winter 2024 Childrenswear campaign is a story of childhood adventure.     Crafted for warmth and comfort, the collection is grounded in knitwear.
