Ealing council wrongly turned away a pregnant woman who approached it for help with housing, after suffering domestic abuse. Following investigation, it was found the council used an outdated definition of domestic abuse limiting it to physical attacks, rather than the legal definition, which includes psychological abuse and coercive and controlling behaviour.
