On Saturday evening two pupils had the opportunity to meet Kaleb Cooper which has cemented their love of farming. At Bredon School the Land Based Studies department is loved by many. On our working school farm we have; a herd of South Devon Cattle, a flock of Badger face sheep, a flock of mixed commercial ewes, 4 Shetland ponies, numerous poultry and commercial team of Large white pigs. From Junior School through to Year 9 students participate in Agriculture, From Year 10 onwards this becomes an optional GCSE and ALevel option. Our students not only take part in Farming activities within their lessons but also in their own free time. We have a farm group that helps before school and in break times. This involves helping with our routine schedule but also on specific projects. Incorporating animals into education can foster a sense of responsibility and empathy among students, teaching them valuable life skills such as animal care on a farm setting. This hands-on experience not only enhances their understanding of biology and agriculture but also promotes a deeper connection to the natural world. Within the agriculture courses we offer, the students complete modules on Livestock Production, Crop Production and Estate Skills, Soil and Plant science and Animal health. It is important that students gain the knowledge to equip themselves for the real world and current issues we face within the industry. #commercialfarm #independentdyslexiaspecialist #gloucestershireschools Kaleb Cooper Contracting LTD #worcestershireschools #tewkesburyschool

One of the highlights of the Bredon school year is our Carol Service. On 12th December we welcomed parents, pupils and old Bredonians to Tewkesbury Abbey to celebrate the end of term. The choir led the singing and Ellouise, performed a magical solo adding to the festive atmosphere The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
