At Bluebell Wood we care for children and young adults whose lives are just too short; and their families.

About us

Your support helps us care for children and young adults whose lives are sadly just too short, both in their own homes and at our hospice in North Anston. We believe that every family deserves to make magical memories with their child, whether they have years, months, weeks or days together. Bluebell Wood is a home from home for families facing the toughest of times, with a comfy lounge and beautiful gardens. We’re always cooking up mouth-watering meals and tasty treats in the kitchen for families. There’s also plenty of fun activities for children to try, including soft play, arts and crafts, music therapy and much more. While they’re staying, children stay in one of eight bedrooms. If their whole family is coming, then parents have their own room too. Every day, we need to raise £11,000 to keep our doors open, and just 10% of our funding is from the government. Everything else is paid for by the wonderful work that you do; whether you run, bake or even Brave the Shave. • Royal Mail employees and senior staff from across the UK have gone above and beyond this week and delivered a first class show of commitment. Employees revamped the front garden spaces of the hospice, turning the soil and transforming one of our side gardens (see the before and after photos) and readying the front gardens for new plants and flowers. We also had a visit from #LennyLetter, who entertained families during our Carnival Day. Thank you for all your support this week. You have made a real difference to the families, children, young people and babies in our care. A special thank you to Tim Hyde for all your support over the last week.

  • Families in our care coming together to enjoy a day of carnival fun. Is there a better way to spend a summer afternoon? We had a super time making memories this week. Playing games, enjoying some sweet treats and getting our faces painted for this year's second carnival day at Bluebell Wood. Thank you to Gary for being part of this video and for his kind words about Bluebell Wood. It is a pleasure to support him, Madison and all of the family.💜 Thanks to Royal Mail and their mascot #LennyLetter for being at the event. Also great to have Smile Pony Therapies Mr Dan and everyone else who made the event such a warm and beautiful experience for the families in our care. #makingmemories #makingmemoriestogether #childrenshospice #summercarnival #summer #familytime #goodtimes #food #games #bluebellwood

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside...🌊🏖️ We did some sensational, sun soaked, seaside sightseeing in #cleethorpes with Dylan yesterday. Playing in the arcades and tucking into some tasty fish and chips! As well as care for families, babies, children and young people, we also offer short breaks for the families in our care - so more young people like Dylan can enjoy days in the sunshine.
