Earlier this year, we discussed the intense salary 'war' taking place in the City, triggered by Magic Circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer who increased their NQ salary to £150,000. Other top firms followed suit and the trend has continued, with Squire Patton Boggs announcing an increase to their NQ salary to £110,000 from January 2025. The Solicitors Regulation Authority has laid the groundwork for another possible increase in charges being demanded from solicitors, suggesting that new work streams have come to the fore in recent months.
