    This week we celebrate the 1 year anniversary of our second recruit, Heather Day. Heather joined us in the early stages, before we launched, and has been an amazing addition to the BFG team. From the beginning, we always knew who we wanted on our founding team, and Heather was always a part of it. She's done a brilliant job in a tough first year where we ended up surpassing all of our targets, while her bubbly personality brought some fun along the way. Her input has been inspirational and she has helped shape our company into something we are all very privileged to be a part of. She is determined, creative, and adds her own special flair to a company with so many different, wonderful characters. We love to use cucumbers as part of our hydration stations as their delicate flavour is perfect for adding a subtle and refreshing taste for our flavoured waters.     Bespoke Food Group in partnership with Muller Lassi station at one of our sites  Our Chef Director Mark has been working on an exciting new collaboration with the Muller company. Creating delicious alternatives for people with food allergies and intolerances has long been a passion of Mark’s and he has created some fabulous new recipes for Muller’s new plant based range. We wanted to incorporate this innovative new range at Bespoke, so we have taken the traditional lassi and given it a vegan makeover at one of our sites today.     Bespoke Food Group Seasonal Pumpkin If any vegetable symbolises the month of October it absolutely has to be the pumpkin. Our supermarkets and farmers markets are full of them. They are used for beautiful autumnal decoration everywhere, from shops and restaurants to peoples homes, especially in the week before Halloween. But don’t just buy this wonderful seasonal vegetable to make the obligatory Jack-O-Lantern.     Bespoke Food Group: Macmillan coffee morning How much was raised for Macmillan  We are proud to announce that we raised £250.20 for the Macmillan cancer charity at our Macmillan coffee morning last week (Although we did it all week to raise as much as we could) Our wonderful clients have promised to match what we raised so that is an "Amazing" £500.40 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Our team worked their socks off to put on a wonderful display of the most delicious cakes and sweet treats and our customers really did have a hard time choosing from the many tempting options                                                                                                          #macmillancoffeemorning #charityevent #cake

    Macmillan coffee morning at Bespoke Food Group The Macmillan cancer support charity has been organising their annual coffee mornings since 1990. Originally a small affair with a simple idea. People coming together over coffee and donating the price of a cup to the Macmillan charity. It is now a national phenomenon raising vital funds for this wonderful charity whilst being a fun way of connecting with friends and colleagues over coffee and cake. 2023 saw an incredible £18,041,302 raised across the country. Enough to fund 288 Macmillan nurses for a whole year. As a new company, still in our first year, this is our very first Macmillan coffee morning and our team has really pushed the boat out with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and sweet treats to choose from. With such classics like treacle tart, lemon drizzle (by popular request) Carrot Cake (by popular request) sponge cake with jam and coconut, baked cheese cake (Polish style), vegan peanut butter and banana cupcakes, chocolate & guinness (0% alcohol) cake, cherry & almond tray bake, Tuscan cantucci (biscotti), ginger loaf cake and many more. Our customers really will be spoilt for choice.     International day of awareness of food loss and waste at Bespoke Food Group The International day of awareness of food loss and waste has been a global event since 2019. Held on the 29th September every year, the aim is to promote responsible consumption and production and address the impact of food insecurity, food safety, climate change and economic instability. At Bespoke, we take our commitment to tackling food waste as one of our most important responsibilities and work with some fabulous suppliers that share our ethos. We also have our own “Waste Not” campaign that encourages using as much of our produce as possible. These delicious and nutritious pickles are made onsite to accompany our lunchtime offerings. With a selection of fresh crunchy cucumbers, red onion and chilli, julienne carrots and fresh red chillis.     National bacon butty day Every year, on the 23rd September, the nation gets to indulge guilt free in one of the most loved sandwiches in the country. Yes, the simple but delicious bacon butty gets it’s very own day of celebration and we simply couldn’t let this day pass without paying homage to one of our favourite breakfasts (at any time of the day).  In true Bespoke style, our offer is as individual as our clients. We love to challenge the status quo and customers loved the twist on this family favourite...Wait for it..... "Bacon filled donuts"... Alongside traditional hearty baps "Traditional or With a Twist" what would you choose? Almost all our customers went "Twist" and tried the donut bacon butty! Yum. We know it makes you think....But they were "Oh so tasty" ...Think Salty, Sweet & definitely Naughty! 😋 With a choice of hearty maple glazed back bacon or streaky bacon for that extra crunch. Accompanied with a whole host of extras from chilli jam, cream cheese, wholegrain mustard, pickled red cabbage & juicy beefsteak tomatoes.     Our team was out and about last night for one of the most fun nights in the contract catering calendar. Our very first entry into the Association of Catering Excellence annual Ready Steady Cook competition. We may not have won this time but our chefs Stuart and Ravish created two spectacular and beautiful dishes. Gressingham duck glazed in Lee Valley farm organic wildflower honey with confit leg, grilled glazed liver, confit apple, potato terrine, black garlic puree, and a crunchy duck crackling. With a vegetarian alternative of miso glazed, grilled aubergine, aubergine caviar, chilli, coriander and shallot dressing and a miso beurre blanc, topped with a delicate nut brittle. It was great to see the industry come together for this wonderful event and we are so proud of both Stuart and Ravish for their incredible debut. #ReadySteadyCook #contractcatering #hospitalityindustry
