Cheers to Lewis 2-year anniversary at Bamber Education! 🎉 As our first recruiter, Lewis has played a key role in our growth. We asked him a few questions about his journey—check out his answers below. 1. Looking back over the past two years, how has Bamber Education changed or grown in your opinion? As BE’s first hire, it’s incredible to see such amazing growth. From the three-man office I started in, to now a huge team of 30+, it's wonderful to be part of something that is not just a recruitment company but a group of individuals who I have the pleasure of walking into the office with each day… believe me, I know that sounds cliché, but I truly mean it! 2. Can you share a memorable moment that stands out from your time here? My most memorable moment has got to be when I did 5 deals in a day. It meant I went to the top of the sales boards, got onto lunch club, and broke the threshold to get onto the company trip in a single day! The office was buzzing, and my candidates were ecstatic. It included 2 placements within the independent sector, both schools, and the teachers were over the moon! 3. What do you enjoy most about being part of the team at Bamber Education? I’ve got to say, as a lover of food and travelling, the lunch club and trip incentives are a game changer. I worked as a bin man previously, and they never had such amazing motivation and encouragement! Thanks to BE, I’ve eaten at some of the best restaurants in Bristol, and I’m truly grateful! 4. How has working at Bamber Education influenced your professional or personal growth? BE has always given us extra time at lunch to focus on improving ourselves. Usually, this comes in the shape of going to the gym or joining one of the many exercise classes. My fitness has improved dramatically. I’ve gone from not being able to do a single pull-up to doing at least forty in a session with our exercise group on Tuesdays. I’ve even started running since my knee operation 2 years ago; I’ve done a few sub 30-minute 5km runs after having so much time off. Watch this space for a half-marathon! When not using my increased lunchtimes on fitness, I’ve been focusing on music and DJing, a true passion of mine. This year, I launched a label with a great friend, and we’ve just announced our first event and EP release coming at the end of September. We’re just getting started, so I’m looking forward to where this takes us! 5. What advice would you give to someone just starting their career here at Bamber Education? As everyone knows, recruitment is a rollercoaster, but it should be simple. If something isn’t working, then try to think outside the box. Essentially, it’s just problem-solving and connecting the dots. If you allow your workflow to be malleable, you will start to work out different ways you can attain the same great results.
