Current projects include a landmark residential scheme in Wandsworth, incorporating a new London headquarters for the Royal Academy of Dance, and the creation of a new enclave of contemporary townhouses and apartments, in the heart of Battersea Village. We also are underway on an exciting new site in Southwark, in the Old Kent Road opportunity area, on the site known as Ruby Triangle. The proposals are for 1,152 new homes including 40% affordable homes and a new sports centre for the community benefit. In 2018 Avanton purchased another exciting 4 acres site in Richmond, which it intends to develop into a residential led mixed use scheme of the highest quality, with 453 new homes, including 40% affordable homes. In 2019 Avanton increased its commitment to the Old Kent Road regeneration area, by acquiring 2 more exciting sites, now with a total of over 2,100 new homes in development in the regeneration area. We are currently on the hunt for regeneration sites in and around central London.

    We end the week with another #planning success story!!! Full planning approval has been granted for Manor Road, paving the way for the transformation of the former Homebase site in #Richmond into a vibrant urban village just 10 minutes from Kew Gardens. Designed by Assael Architecture for client Avanton Limited in partnership with ICG, the approved scheme will deliver 453 contemporary residences, 40% of which are affordable, along with a dynamic mix of retail spaces on the ground floor. These will be distributed across five architectural blocks of varying heights, all centred around a thoughtfully designed, climate-responsive public realm created by Gillespies. The public realm has been carefully crafted to enhance #ecology and improve connectivity through a network of interconnected green squares, courtyards, and streets. At the heart of this new community is a versatile neighbourhood square, designed to host everything from intimate farmers' markets to open-air cinema nights, enriching the local social fabric and transforming this site into a must-visit destination. Residents will also enjoy private communal courtyards, offering exclusive spaces for relaxation and social interaction. The street frontage along Manor Road will feature new paving, tree planting, and vibrant retail outlets, activating the ground floor and transforming the pedestrian approach to North Sheen station, infusing the area with fresh vitality and urban character. The use of climate-resilient species guarantees that the landscape will flourish under future environmental conditions, ensuring the development's long-term #sustainability and #resilience.     Great news from Avanton! We've secured approval for our £260 million Richmond residential project, marking a significant milestone in our development plans. Read the full article below OR via the link: Avanton Limited, Omer Weinberger, Chris Cobham Avanton and partner ICG have secured unconditional planning consent for a £260m residential scheme in Richmond, five years after first submitting a planning application, Green Street News can reveal. The partners have secured consent for the 453-home scheme on Manor Road, 40% of which is earmarked for affordable tenures. The five acre site, formerly a Homebase, will be redeveloped into four blocks ranging between three and 11 storeys, and is aiming to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating. Avanton and ICG said they have “received several unsolicited approaches” for the sale of the site and are currently considering “several options” to bring forward the scheme for both open-market sales and build-to-rent tenures. Avanton initially submitted a planning application for the scheme in 2019, but this was knocked back by the local council before mayor of London Sadiq Khan called in the scheme and approved it, subject to a Section 106 agreement, in October 2020. “It will be very satisfying to see the site being demolished shortly and construction commencing later in the year, finally” Omer Weinberger, Avanton However, the project was subsequently called in by then-secretary of state for housing Robert Jenrick, who argued that the mayor should not approve the scheme until a further review was conducted. The approved scheme remains largely consistent with the 2020 planning permission. Omer Weinberger, chief executive officer at Avanton, said: “Avanton is delighted to have secured planning permission for the redevelopment of this rare site. When it was purchased in 2018, still as an operating Homebase, the market was different and the scheme awarded planning withstands the test of time, with classical brick design and lots of communal outdoor space. “The excellent transportation links into central London and the immediate surrounding of the site, being some 10 minutes’ walk to Richmond Park or Kew Gardens, make this probably the best mid-market housing location in West London. It will be very satisfying to see the site being demolished shortly and construction commencing later in the year, finally.” Earlier this year, Avanton also secured a final planning permission for the 515-home Stonebridge Place scheme in Wembley, a project on which Avanton acted as development manager for client Canada-Israel UK.     Our HQ has won an award at the RIBA London 2024 awards! Congratulations Takero Shimazaki Architects for winning in the RIBA London South West category. The awards recognise the capital’s best new architect-designed projects. Each day our building welcomes people from around the world who are taking RAD exams and classes, attending events or visiting the HQ for a tour.
