This October, we celebrate Black History Month by emphasizing the importance of correcting historical inaccuracies and highlighting untold success stories. This year, Black History Month is about reclaiming control of Black stories and honoring the complexity and richness of Black heritage. As we reflect on the achievements of Black people, we must also recognize the need to challenge and dismantle the historical narratives that have marginalized their contributions. By amplifying their voices and celebrating their impact, we honor the full spectrum of their leadership and pave the way for future generations to thrive. With the Worker Protection Act now in play, INvolve - The Inclusion People conducted research to understand the current landscape of workplace sexual harassment. In a survey of over 1,000 women working in businesses with 250+ employees, 55% of respondents expressed concerns that women in their workplaces face risks of sexual harassment. Alarmingly, one in four reported witnessing such incidents within the past five years. These findings emphasize the urgent need for ongoing efforts to eradicate sexual harassment in professional environments. Ahead of the Worker Protection Act coming into effect next week, INvolve conducted some research around sexual harassment in the workplace. Surveying a sample of just over 1,000 women in business working in workplaces with 250+ employees - our research found that more than half (55%) believe the women in their workplace are at risk of sexual harassment, while one in four said they’d witnessed sexual harassment in their workplace in the last five years. The figures show that so much more work needs to be done to eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace.
