This week we welcomed seven work experience students to Ashtons Legal LLP. We’ve had a fantastic week showcasing what it’s like to work in law and at Ashtons Legal. We’ve also given them a whole host of useful skills, hints and tips to take with them as they move ahead with their future careers. We wish them all the very best with their final studies – and we hope to see them all again in the future!

About us
Ashtons Legal is an award-winning law firm with a strong focus on customer service. The legal teams provide a wide range of advice to businesses and private individuals regionally, nationally and internationally from offices across East Anglia and Leeds. We are one of the largest law firms in the region with offices in Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Ipswich, Norwich and Leeds. We are a broad service firm which employs over 400 people. Our service lines are divided into three main client groups: business, individual and those with injury services. Ashtons Legal has been recognised by the Legal 500 and Chambers UK Guide to the Legal Profession for over 20 years. The Legal 500 has quoted sources saying Ashtons 'provides a better service than most larger national firms and is a delight to work with’. The firm has also started to gain a reputation in the regional legal markets for doing things a little differently. CEO James Tarling is frequently asked to contribute articles to national legal practice management journals, usually on the topic of change within the profession and with a focus on employee engagement and retention. The firm’s Paid Time Off Policy has been well received within the firm and outside it. Continuing to build on this with a flexible and agile approach is a priority for the management team.

Team Ashtons Legal LLP are putting their running shoes on and taking part in Chariots of Fire on Sunday 22nd September. This is a relay around Cambridge City Centre through some of the University colleges to raise money in support of Magpas Air Ambulance. More information about the event and the charity, including how to donate, are available here: https://lnkd.in/eG4xnySN. This event recognises the vital service Magpas provides to our community. They offer the very best pre-hospital emergency care, in the air or on land, including treatments usually only available in hospital. Stay tuned for incoming photos from team Ashtons: Claire Sleep, Simon Parker, Andrew Skuse, Clare Best, Michael Frape and me.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Ashtons Legal LLP #Ipswich #TreasureHunt this evening. Just me and the ‘hare’ left now, but it was great to see the #Ipswich #ProfessionalNetwork out in force this evening. The weather was on our side in the end - and whilst the final scores were hotly contested, EBCam Employee Benefits & Independent Financial Advisers were the outright winners with a #perfectscore. With the generosity of everyone taking part, we were able to raise a fantastic sum of money for our nominated charity, St Elizabeth Hospice, so thank you all again for showing your support. And… (I apologise for the following), ‘hAres’ to next year!!!

Huge thanks to Tim Ridyard and Ashtons Legal LLP for providing a comprehensive guide to understanding the risks associated with not complying with H&S at work regulations in this month's Essential Fleet Manager - it is a topic we have wanted to cover for a long time. A must-read for all operators - remember you can download a copy of the magazine in pdf format from the website.
