The UK’s only charity of its kind funding voluntary operated 999 vehicles & equipment for CFR’s trained by WMAS.
About us
Arrive Alive was founded by Debbie Roscoe following her daughter’s life threatening illness. Debbie found herself in a position no parent or loved one should face needing emergency medical help, following her daughters illness being dismissed as a simple virus from a GP. Within a couple of hours of visiting her GP Ellie, Debbie’s daughter was in resuscitation at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham, she was successfully treated by the infectious diseases department at the hospital. Ellie also suffers from numerous other conditions as well as life threatening anaphylactic allergies. Arrive Alive is solely funded by public donations and is dedicated to funding vital lifesaving vehicles and equipment for Community First Responders (CFR’s). CFR’s are medically trained volunteers who are regulated and dispatched to life threatening 999 calls by West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS). An Arrive Alive vehicle can reach a 999 medical emergency in those vital seconds/minutes prior to a road or air ambulance due to being directly based within the heart of the community. CFR’s are trained to deal with some of the most time critical medical emergencies. All of our vehicles are on the same radio network as a standard road or air ambulance to receive the details of the medical emergency, following a 999 call. Demand is greater than ever on our current operational lifesaving vehicles and equipment. An additional twelve voluntary operated lifesaving equipped vehicles are urgently needed to join the existing fleet of Arrive Alive vehicles on the frontline. WMAS is the largest the ambulance service in the UK they cover over 5000 square miles with a population of approximately 60 million people. At present there are just over 400 WMAS road ambulances to cover this area and receive approximately 4000, 999 calls everyday.

🕰️ Reminder! This weekend, the clocks go back an hour. Don’t forget to set your clocks back at 2 AM on Sunday 27th October. While you’re enjoying an extra hour in bed, spare a thought for the incredible emergency services workers as they’re working an extra hour. #DaylightSavingTime #FallBack #ExtraHour

Today is #RestartAHeart day ❤️ Did you know, there are over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests every year in the UK. Less than 1 in 10 people survive a cardiac arrest. Learning CPR and how to use a defibrillator can more than double a person's chance of survival in some cases.

🌄Last week, 19 of the most intrepid members of our Birmingham team successfully completed the climb of Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon), to raise funds for three selected charities: Birmingham Hospice, Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and Arrive Alive - Registered Charity 1149910. 🏔Standing at over 3,000 feet, Yr Wyddfa is the highest mountain in Eryri National Park (formerly Snowdonia), and the most popular summit, with more than 600,000 people climbing the peak every year. All six recommended routes up Yr Wyddfa are labelled "hard or strenuous" by the Eryri National Park Authority. 🧗♀️Our team chose the Pyg Track for their ascent, which is described as "the most rugged and challenging route to the summit, and one of the shortest routes." The team then descended via the Miners Track. 🧗♂️Marcus Singh, Management Surveyor at Workman, was one of the team, and is also the charity representative at the firm’s Birmingham office: "We are incredibly proud of the determination and teamwork everyone has put in," he said. ⛰"Everyone's support has made a real difference to our three incredible causes. I want to thank everyone involved in making this event a success, and most importantly Workman LLP for making this event possible." 🙏Thanks to the generous contributions of everyone who has donated so far, the team has raised an impressive £1,870 in support of Birmingham Hospice, Cancer Research, and Arrive Alive. 👀To read more about the adventure, and make a donation, visit: https://bit.ly/3Zmv2HF #LifeAtWorkman #BuildingCommunity #team #Birmingham
