Professionalism and Reputation   Every project ADC undertakes is unique, and we are often asked to help an Operator with an early assessment of a rig that is either being considered for a contract or has already been selected. This can present an opportunity to observe the rig in operation.   In such cases, it’s important to ensure alignment among all stakeholders. This includes not only ADC's direct client and the drilling contractor, but also the current operator, whose ongoing operations must be respected and uninterrupted.   While technical expertise is essential, our specialists' ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all parties is equally important. We frequently receive positive feedback from the drilling contractor regarding our professionalism and collaborative approach. However, during a recent inspection of an operational jack-up rig, ADC also received commendation from the current operator who we last worked with in 2016.   “…super professional and we are all pretty impressed… [Drilling Contractor] have made some very positive comments and are really pleased [with] the way you do your business.”   “we informed our management how good you guys are, so hopefully want to book [ADC] for next year for [a] semi and this jack up.”

IADC Advanced Rig Technology ADC’s Managing Director, Austin Hay and Business Development Manager, Jason McGill attended the International Association of Drilling Contractors ART Conference in Austin Texas last week. Among the 2 days of technology-driven discussions, keynote presentations and panel sessions was an overview of the collaboration between Seadrill and ADC to use machine learning and advanced data analytics to better manage the remaining useable life of BOP annulars. The presentation was concisely delivered within the allotted 5 minutes by Seadrill’s Johnathan Dady. Special mention also goes to the talented artist from Ink Factory Studio for creatively capturing the key messages and themes over the 2 days and for highlighting ADC’s ethos of making the industry SAFER, CLEANER and MORE EFFICIENT. You also can’t visit #ATX without stopping for dinner at Terry Black's Barbecue

Global Teamwork Members of the ADC teams from Asia Pacific and the UK joined forces to support our client PETRONAS with a rig selection of a jack up which is currently operational offshore West Africa. Focusing on well control, drilling equipment and cyber control systems, ADC assessed the jack up’s suitability for operations and compliance with industry standards. An early assessment of potential rigs helps to mitigate risk to safety, productivity and the environment whilst allowing sufficient time for the Drilling Contractor to address any areas of concern ahead of mobilisation.

On this day in 1986… Our history with the global energy industry started on May 14th 1986 when Douglas Hay recognised that the current level of inspection being offered to Operators was insufficient. Douglas collaborated with both the rig owners and operators to develop an inspection standard that sought to minimise non-productive time and reduce the risk of failure for Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements of the rig. This initial idea for robust operational assurance created our mission to make the energy industry safer, cleaner and more efficient. This remains important for our sustainability, innovation and growth as it keeps all of us focused on what we do and why. ADC’s longevity and sustainability over the past 38 years is a combination of our ethos, approach and our people. Engrained in our ethos is challenging the status quo – always striving to find innovative or better ways of doing things - this permeates every aspect of the business from leadership to management, technical, operations and commercial. This ethos was a driving force when Douglas founded the company in 1986 and is still actively communicated from him today and down through his son and Manager Director Austin Hay who now leads the company. Our approach to service delivery is to integrate with auditee rig crews and management, aligning objectives and using our expertise and experience to help solve problems as efficiently as possible. This approach harbours trust and ultimately leads to a more effective audit benefiting both the client we are auditing the rig on behalf of and the rig owner themselves. Our people embody our ethos and approach and are invaluable to us. In return we take pride in looking after their wellbeing whilst investing significantly in their professional development through OEM training programs with the likes of NOV, HMH and KONGSBERG. As a result many of our team have been with the company for over 10 years and are fully invested and incredibly passionate about what we do, which translates into the quality of service we have become renowned for. These standards, integrity and the culture we have nurtured within our talented group have maintained our reputation for quality and customer focus in this niche sector of the energy industry. Each and every one of our customers has their own nuances, they may share the same goal, but our performance metrics differ each time and this makes accurate communication and understanding also vital to our reputation. After 38 years as a family-owned SME, our reputation carries weight and keeps us moving forward.
