Today marks one month since I started one of the most exciting chapters yet… 🚀 In April 2022, (whilst definitely not procrastinating from writing my uni essays) I came across an Instagram page advertising some golden tickets. The page looked pretty cool, so I signed up to attend the first Social Mobility Factory. I remember arriving in London feeling like THE biggest imposter. It felt like every emotion was running through me, and all I kept thinking was: what is a girl like me doing here at such a snazzy event? At this point I had never heard of The 93% Club or the term ’social mobility’ BUT within the first few minutes all those emotions washed away. I knew I was home. That day, I felt that I had finally found the community I so desperately craved at uni. As soon as the event finished, I knew I wanted to be more involved, and this was where my 93 journey began ❤️ Summer 2022, I started to volunteer as an account manager and a few months later, I started The 93% Club society on my campus. Running a Club on campus taught me so many things, but most importantly it taught me that with determination and the right circle of people around you, anything is possible. And so, this feels like such a full circle moment! I’m SO excited share that I’ve joined The 93% Club as its sixth fulltime member of staff! 🥳 I’ve had the most incredible first month. From hitting up different universities on our first ever Freshers Tour, to attending monthly 93% Professionals events, and even the Social Mobility Awards!! What a time to join as well as we grow at record speed. I am so incredibly grateful to be joining a team dedicated to making a meaningful difference 🌟 Here’s to new beginnings 🚀 #stateschoolproud
