Today, we at MTN and MoMo from MTN UG are proud to announce our partnership with Uganda Christian University (UCU) to empower Uganda’s youth with vital digital skills. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our shared mission to equip young Ugandans with the tools they need to excel in the digital age. As we signed the Memorandum of Understanding, we were joined by key leaders, including David Mugawe, Vice-Chancellor of UCU, and Stephen Mutana, Chief Strategy and Stakeholder Officer at MTN Mobile Money Uganda Ltd. Together, we’re integrating the MTN Skills Academy into UCU’s curriculum, specifically within the Foundational Basic Computing unit, to ensure students receive hands-on digital training. The MTN Skills Academy, part of our broader Digital Skills for Digital Jobs initiative, has already seen over 1,420 youth enroll since its launch in Uganda. This program addresses the gap between digital skills and employment opportunities, aiming to create real change. We’re also excited to expand our ongoing initiatives, like the MTN ACE program and the MTN Internet Bus, which further enhance digital literacy across the country. Our partnership with UCU is a testament to the power of collaboration between the private sector and educational institutions in driving meaningful change. A special thank you to Nelson Munyanda, Manager at #MTNFoundation; VINCENT KISENYI, Dean of the School of Business and Administration at UCU; and Martin Kabanda, UCU’s Manager in charge of E-learning, for their invaluable contributions to this initiative. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter, opportunity-filled future for Uganda’s youth. #DigitalSkills #YouthEmpowerment #PartnershipsForProgress #TogetherWeAreUnstoppable

A Day of Joy, Togetherness, and New Beginnings at Kitooro Market in Entebbe. Today was nothing short of extraordinary at Kitooro Market in Entebbe. What started as a simple act of resilience two weeks ago, shared through NTV Uganda's #NTVAkawungezi, has blossomed into a powerful story of hope and community. Night Ampurire, a humble fruit vendor and mother of five, captured our hearts with her determination to provide for her family, even as she drove a rundown pickup truck to keep her business afloat. This afternoon, our MTN Uganda team, led by CEO Mulinge Sylvia M.B.S, surprised Night at the market with a brand-new pickup truck. The joy on her face as her old truck was replaced, fruit by fruit, was a moment we will never forget as she danced and thanked MTN for this great surprise that will transform her business. As Sylvia Mulinge put it, "Today, we don’t just hand over a new truck; we celebrate the power of resilience, the strength of community, and the unstoppable spirit of a woman who refused to give up. Night Ampurire, your journey inspires us all. Together, we are unstoppable." Night’s story is not just about one woman’s journey it’s about the strength, resilience, and spirit of our entire community. A special thank you to NTV Uganda for bringing Night’s story to light. It was through their dedication to telling stories that matter that we became aware of Night’s situation. Their reporting brought to light the challenges faced by hardworking entrepreneurs like Night, and it is because of their efforts that we are all here for Night. To the editorial team at NTV, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your work has not only highlighted a challenge but has also paved the way for meaningful support and change. This is a powerful example of how media can drive positive impact in our communities. Also, a special thank you to the MTN women team represented by GM Corporate Affairs, Enid Edroma, who presented a special gift for Night’s baby, a mother to another. They gifted Night a car seat to carry her child when going to work. We’re excited to see where this new chapter takes Night and her business. This is why we do what we do to make a real difference in the lives of people who embody the true spirit of determination and hard work. #TogetherWeAreUnstoppable

#WomensMonth | Congratulations to Mulinge Sylvia, MTN Uganda CEO, for being named one of Uganda's 100 Leading and Most Admired CEOs of 2024!  Sylvia shares a powerful message in her interview with Tribe Business Magazine that resonates deeply this Women's Month: "To all the women out there, celebrate who you are, be comfortable in your femininity, and remember our vulnerability is not weakness, but our greatest measure of courage. In that confidence, lean in and get the job done!" Read Sylvia's inspiring interview on page 23: https://bit.ly/3AsA8HR #DoingGoodTogether #30yearsofMTN

The pioneering spirit of MTN has been driven by the passion and dedication of our earliest employees. Carol Buys, Employee #2, reflects on those early days: "It was about creating something new, something that had never been done before in our region. The sense of purpose was palpable." Paul Norman, current MTN Group Chief Human Resources Officer, shares his memories: “There was a real integration and connection and everybody feeling like they owned the outcome, regardless of which area you worked in, and I think that was really in the energy of the place.” Read more about how this collective spirit helped us build MTN from the ground up: https://bit.ly/4bTrKzi #30yearsofMTN #DoingGoodTogether
