💶 Starting from January 1, 2025, the Lithuanian freight operator LTG Cargo will change the basic tariffs for its services. 🔊 According to the company, the update of the cost of LTG Cargo's services is due to an increase in the tariffs of railway infrastructure operator LTG Infra. 💶 These changes are expected to affect about a fifth of the cargo flow, including cargo transported in transit to Kaliningrad, and basic tariffs for some business services will increase by 6-20%. 💶 At the same time, prices for some services will remain unchanged, for example, for the transportation of goods in the import and export direction through the port of Klaipeda (Klaipėdos uostas/Port of Klaipėda). The prices and terms of service stipulated in the contracts will apply to customers who have entered into long-term agreements. 💠 50,000 tons of ballast gravel from Sweden have been unloaded at the Klaipėdos uostas/Port of Klaipėda. 💠 This is the first shipment under the contract for 86,200 tons; another 36,200 tons are to be shipped to Lithuania in November. 💠 The gravel is intended for the construction of a new 8.8 km section of the Rail Baltica highway, which will connect the city of Zeimiai and the village of Sveicarija, Jonava district, Kaunas County. 🔊 “After the gravel base is installed, the contractor will lay sleepers and rails on it. We expect the first batch of rails to be delivered by the end of the year, and the plant has already started producing sleepers. Efficient delivery of materials and timely execution of construction works are particularly important for maintaining the pace and progress of the project,” said Vytis Zalimas, CEO of LTG Infra, an infrastructure developer. 🔊 “The delivery of materials shows that we are ready for the next stages of the railway construction and as construction work intensifies, we are moving on to another type of work - the installation of road superstructure. 💠 In the first half of 2024, Laude Smart Intermodal SA transported more than 53 thousand TEU in Ukraine, which was an important step in the development of intermodal transport in the region. 🔊 This was stated by Павел Колоско, General Director of Laude Smart Intermodal SA in Ukraine, in an interview with Intermodalnews.pl. 🔊 “In domestic traffic, as well as to and from Ukraine, we mainly transport palletized cargo, steel products, grain, fertilizers and oils. However, on the key route of Ukrainian exports to the ports of Greater Odesa, we transport both grain and steel products, which is especially important amid dynamic changes on the market. Of course, we use our specialized containers. In a situation where literally every minute counts for security reasons, this is the best possible and affordable solution,” assures Mr. Kalasko. 💠 The terminal in Zamość: a key facility for transportation to Europe 💠 Expanding presence in Ukraine and cooperation with Europe For a more extensive understanding of the ongoing market situation, explore eeu.wtmreport.com Should you have any inquiries, feel free to reach: Nataliia Krut (Наталья Круть) 📧 [email protected] 📞 +38 066 419 98 91 (WhatsApp, Telegram)

🔊 During the conference “Production, Operation and Repair of Rolling Stock”, Oleg Yakovenko, Director of the Strategy and Transformation Department at JSC Ukrainian Railway (Ukrzaliznytsia), reported on main stages of the development of European TEN-T transport corridors in Ukraine. 🔹 In particular, he spoke about the construction of a 1435 mm gauge in parallel to the existing 1520 mm wide gauge on the following routes (...) 🔹 The double track network will be equipped with automatic track gauge change technology - switching between wheel pairs. This innovative technology was developed by ADIF and certified in Spain to switch between 1435 mm and 1668 mm gauges. 🔹 It is to be reminded that the railway infrastructure operator Adif and Ukrzaliznytsia signed a memorandum to develop a pilot project to use the technology of an automatic system for changing the width of wheel sets of freight rolling stock for different gauges at western crossings. 🔺 The general contractor ATLAS WARD POLSKA Sp. z o.o. has completed the modernization of the Loconi intermodal terminal in Radomsko (Poland) after 18 months of work. 🔺 Thanks to the modernization, the terminal has almost doubled its production capacity and is now able to handle refrigerated containers and semi-trailers, as well as swap bodies. The annual maximum throughput capacity is now 300,000 TEU. 🔊 “The completion of the modernization of our terminal in Radomsko is another important development milestone for Loconi this year. Thanks to the investments, the Radomsko terminal has become one of 18 land-based terminals in Poland with an area of over 1 hectare, with full capacity for handling continental cargo, which puts us at the forefront of the most modern and strategic facilities in the country. At the same time, it is one of 12 terminals in Poland that have regular rail connections to Polish seaports and the only such facility within a radius of about 100 km,” said Lidia Dziewierska, President of the Board of Loconi Intermodal S.A. 🔺 Modernization allows creating new transport routes that offer external partners additional connection opportunities. 🔺 As intermodal terminals will continue to play an important role in reorienting freight flows from road to rail, the Radomsko facility is expected to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly transport corridors.
