Images captured by a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellite on Wednesday, June 21, show Tropical Storm Bret as it developed in the Caribbean.

The images from the GOES East satellite also showed another system with a “high chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next couple of days” to the east, NOAA said.

In an update on June 21, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said the storm was moving westward and was forecast to cross the Caribbean’s Lesser Antilles by late Thursday. The Lesser Antilles islands include Anguilla, Saint Martin/Sint Maarten, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Barbuda, and others.

The NHC said it was too soon to predict the power of the storm or its potential for damage, but said a Tropical Storm Warning was in place for Saint Lucia. Credit: NOAA via Storyful
