🚀 Celebrating Neurosurgery Awareness Month with #NaoTrac ! 🚀 This August, we spotlight Dr. Stanley Chuang, Chief of the Neuro-Medical Scientific Center at An-Nan Hospital in #Taiwan, renowned for his expertise in neuro-oncology and neuro-regenerative. Dr. Chuang has been pioneering the use of NaoTrac in prone position neurosurgeries, showcasing its remarkable accuracy and flexibility. NaoTrac, a robot-assisted surgical navigation robot in neurosurgery, significantly enhances the precision and safety of surgeries, particularly for brain tumors located in the posterior fossa. According to Dr. Chuang, the prone position offers several benefits, including better access to the surgical site, reduced risk of air embolism, and improved cerebrospinal fluid drainage. Traditional supine positions are not always feasible for such cases, making the prone position advantageous. Dr. Chuang's experience with over 10 prone surgeries using NaoTrac has yielded outstanding results, confirming the robot's potential to revolutionize neurosurgical procedures. Dr. Chuang emphasizes, "The prone position provides a unique advantage by improving surgical access and reducing potential complications such as air embolism and cerebrospinal fluid management issues." 🚀 Celebrating Neurosurgery Awareness Month with #NaoTrac ! 🚀 This August, we highlight the incredible advancements in neurosurgery, particularly in stem cell implantation for treating Spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA). We are excited to feature Dr. Tsung Lang Chiu, the Chief Neurosurgeon from Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation, Hualien Tzu-Chi Medical Center, known for his innovative use of technology to enhance patient outcomes. One of Dr. Chiu's patients, a 41-year-old female suffering from progressive symptoms of SCA, underwent NaoTrac-assisted stem cell implantation. Although the cell therapy didn't halt the progression of her condition, the procedure demonstrated the potential for improved quality of life through advanced surgical techniques. This case highlights the transformative impact of combining advanced technology with stem cell therapy. During the 12-month observation, the patient did not gain obvious improvement, but there is no progression of her clinical manifestation either. With this experience, we believe that NaoTrac also opens new opportunities for drug delivery in various brain surgeries, enhancing the treatment of neurological conditions with precise targeting and reduced invasiveness. We are excited to feature Dr. Jeng-Hung Guo from China Medical University Hospital. Dr. Guo is a neurosurgeon with high potential, known for his willingness to learn and adopt new technologies for better patient outcomes. Specializing in cerebrovascular and minimally invasive neurosurgery, Dr. Guo is advancing the treatment of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH). ICH surgery involves removing blood clots from the brain to alleviate pressure and prevent further damage. Traditionally, smaller hematomas (<30ml) were managed conservatively due to lower mortality rates and other criteria such as patient stability and clot location. However, Dr. Guo facilitates NaoTrac, a surgical navigation robot, for its fast patient registration, precision, and minimally invasive approach. This significantly enhances the accuracy and efficiency of hematoma aspiration. For patients with blood clots under 30ml, conservative treatment is often recommended, such as waiting for the clot to be reabsorbed naturally. Yet, with NaoTrac, even smaller clots can be managed surgically with improved outcomes. NaoTrac's precision and minimally invasive technique lead to faster recovery, reduced inflammation, and better overall functional outcomes for patients with small-volume hematomas.
