This week Ahlstrom and the Wisconsin Paper Council partnered to award the Women in Forest Products Scholarship to Carissa Ashman. The scholarship aims to support young women pursuing careers in the forest products and paper industries and to increase female representation in these fields. Carissa was also recognized with a Certificate of Achievement from the Office of Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers for being the first recipient of the scholarship award. Carissa, who comes from generations of papermakers and has participated in STEM education in high school, hopes to impact the forest products and paper industries through her continued studies in Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Congratulations Carissa! 💜🎉

Protecting Biodiversity: Mosinee Flowage Organism Rescue & River Cleanup 🌱 Biodiversity is essential for life on Earth, providing us with food, clean water, crop pollination, and much more. At Ahlstrom, we are deeply committed to protecting the environment and preserving biodiversity wherever we operate. Last month, our Mosinee plant in the U.S. undertook two aquatic organism rescues in the Mosinee Flowage to safeguard local biodiversity. From July 10th to 12th, nine dedicated volunteers covered the area—including shorelines, islands, and sandbars—rescuing stranded organisms. Over 1,480 organisms were returned to the Wisconsin River, including 1,370 mussels, 91 snails, 6 crayfish, and 14 fish. Additionally, we removed and properly disposed of more than nine bags of garbage from the river! We believe in being responsible environmental stewards. We strive to protect and enhance the ecosystems around our manufacturing sites globally. Reducing our environmental impact is not enough—it's about actively contributing to the health of our ecosystems. We're excited to continue our journey toward sustainability and biodiversity conservation.
