TV show description:
Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) lives in Seattle, Washington with her 26-year-old eccentric brother and guardian, Spencer (Jerry Trainor). Their father, US Air Force Colonel Steven Shay, is temporarily stationed on a submarine.
The story begins as Carly and her best friend, Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy), goof off at a school talent show audition. Their tech-savvy friend, Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress) films them and posts the footage online without telling the girls.
It becomes a big hit, the online audience clamors for more and the kids create the iCarly webcast series. They produce the show in a makeshift third-floor studio loft in Carly’s apartment. Carly and Sam appear on-screen — acting in skits, making recipes, answering viewers questions, and dancing randomly — and Freddie is their technical producer.
While dealing with typical teenage issues, the kids also become online celebrities as their show garners international attention.
As the series progresses, their odd friend Gibby (Noah Munck) takes part in the fun.
Episode #108 & 109 — iGoodbye
Carly is waiting for her father, Colonel Shay, to arrive to escort her to the Father-Daughter Air Force Dance. Unfortunately, she receives an electronic message and discovers that he can’t come to Seattle after all. Spencer offers to take her to the dance and she accepts.
Prior to the dance, Spencer tries to repair a motorcycle for Socko’s cousin Ryder. Sam really likes the vehicle and volunteers to help Spencer fix it. He later becomes sick (after being sneezed on by the building’s nasty doorman, Lewbert) so he can’t take Carly after all.
Knowing that this will be the last year that she can attend the dance, Carly is quite upset. Meanwhile, Freddie and Gibby are at the mall to create a replica of Gibby’s head, after losing his original copy at a pawn shop in Las Vegas. Sam calls and suggests that Freddie and Gibby should offer to take Carly. They do but this only makes her more upset.
Fortunately, Colonel Shay is able to come after all and they go to the dance together. After the dance, the Colonel tells everyone that he must return to Italy and offers for Carly to come with him. Though she has doubts, Carly’s friends encourage her and she agrees. The gang goes upstairs to stream their final (at least for now) iCarly webcast together. Colonel Shay looks on as they thank all their fans for their love and support.
Spencer gives Sam the motorcycle after Socko changes his mind about giving it to his cousin. When Carly and Freddie are alone in the studio for the last time, they kiss before she departs. On the airplane trip to Italy, Carly watches a montage of archived iCarly webcasts.
The episode ends with a voiceover of Freddie who says “and, we’re clear” before the screen fades to black.
