TV show description:
A scripted anthology series, each season of Genius tells the “untold” stories about the most intelligent and inventive innovators in the world.
The first season of Genius centers on scientist Albert Einstein and is a TV show adaptation of the book, Einstein: His Life and Universe, by Walter Isaacson. Johnny Flynn plays Einstein in his younger days, with Geoffrey Rush assuming the role in the German-born physicist’s later years.
Genius, season one, explores how Einstein became a worldwide icon and developed the theory of relativity. The TV series features his incredible professional accomplishment. In addition, it delves into his passionate, complicated, and sometimes explosive private life.
Season one also introduces Einstein’s peers of the day, such as Marie Curie (Issová), Pierre Curie (Invernizzi), Carl Jung (Hallet), Max Planck (Brown), and Werner Heisenberg (Rubeck).
Genius kicks off when Einstein (Flynn), as a teen, defies is father and drops out of school in Germany, to attend university in Switzerland. Young Albert then disappoints first love, Marie Winteler (Tarbet), to woo physics student Mileva Marić (Colley).
When Mileva gets pregnant, the couple has to set aside their lofty aspirations. On the advice of his friend Michele Besso (Gabel), Albert takes a job a lowly patent clerk.
Still seeking scientific success, he manages to publish five papers in a single year. This accomplishment draws a lot of attention to Einstein, particularly from Dr. Philipp Lenard (McElhatton), who will become his professional rival.
As WWI approaches, Albert and Mileva’s marriage is falling apart. He eventually embarks upon an affair with Elsa Einstein Löwenthal, his first cousin, who would go on to become his second wife.
The first installment of Genius takes place amidst the global upheaval during World War I and World War II and will introduce the subject for the show’s second season. As anti-Semitism crests in Europe, and atomic weapons threaten the survival of mankind, the principled Einstein’s life is at risk, even as he struggles as a husband and a father.

What do you think? Do you like the Genius TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for another season?
Brilliant… but Geist is no hero —- do your research better.
Enjoyed both ‘Einstein’ and “Picasso’ and my wife and I didn’t miss an episode. Looking forward to who’s next, trusting they will be written & produced as well as the previous two ‘Genius’. We look forward to more high-end productions from NatGeo Channel!
My husband and I loved the series on Einstein. We were unable to watch the presentation of Genius: Picasso, but plan to watch it online. I thought that I’d read that Mary Shelley was to be the subject of one of the series, but have not seen anything about it. How we missed the Max Perkins series is beyond me. The show itself was heavily advertised on other networks before the Einstein series. I noticed some negative reviews about heavy-handed productions, stodginess, etc., but most people will wind up knowing more about the subjects than they did before watching. PLEASE… Read more »
Its a wonderful show. I really enjoy it and can’t wait to see the next season. Please do not cancel.

Love this show !!!!! Looking forward to seeing it in 2018
I have enjoyed S1 of this series and do hope it will return before too long
This is one of the most outstanding programs I have seen including many PBS offerings. I learned.a great deal about Einstein’s brilliance. Please continue this series I am hoping to learn about Leonardo da Vinci , Stephen Hawkins, Beethovan, Woolf, Curie
This show is awesome. why do networks keep taking off the best shows of the air and leave us crap? How are they thinking about taking this show off the air and I have to keep trying to avoid anything Kardashian or Housewives anywhere? Please for once let us watch a good series.
Outstanding series exploring so much I did not know about Einstein. Acting was superb and Geoffrey Rush as well as the producers should be recognized. Bring it back for more.
Great show! I love how Albert Einstein explains physics lessons in the episodes.
Best thing I have seen on TV in recent years. I am highly recommending it to friends, but I a can’t find when it will be repeated.
I just got finished watching the season 1 2hr finale. And i have to say i’m TOTALLY mesmerized with this TV series. Geoffrey Rush is absolutely OUTSTANDING in his role as Einstein. I learned so much about “the man” beyond his genius. How he struggled with his family and other personal relationships he had with people. And by the end of the 2hr finale i was in tears. That all said, it will be VERY interesting to see what is to come next in season 2. As i had noticed at the very end of this finale they ran a… Read more »
