TV show description:
This musical comedy series comes from animated musical veterans Dan Fogelman (writer), Alan Menken (composer), and Glenn Slater (lyricist). It revolves around a dashing hero who once lost the love of his life to an evil king. It’s now time for the hero to exact his revenge and restore his “happily ever after.”
Charming and handsome, Galavant (Joshua Sasse) is a gallant knight and hero so beloved that he is known by just one name. When he goes to save the love of his life, Madalena (Mallory Jansen), after she was kidnapped by the evil King Richard (Timothy Omundson), she rejects Galavant.
He proclaims that all he has to offer her is his love and it seems that the demanding beauty would prefer a life of fame and fortune over love. So, she marries the King.
Since then, Galavant has gone broke, stopped bathing, and has gained weight — most likely due to his penchant for libations. Sid (Luke Youngblood) is Galavant’s trusty squire who assists the fallen hero in keeping his life in order as best he can. Adopted as a baby, Sid was left on an older couple’s doorstep.
Notorious for his evil ways, King Richard indulges in such hobbies as raising taxes and tormenting the poor. The evil king isn’t as tough as you might think however. One insult from Madalena and he bursts into tears. Gareth (Vinnie Jones) is the king’s rough and tough right-hand henchman who often has to instruct the king on how to be more manly in his ways.
Spunky Princess Isabella (Karen David) — whose full name is Princess Isabella Lucia Maria Elizabetta of Valencia — seeks out and engages the depressed Galavant in order to save her people from King Richard. She’s sent by the king to lure Galavant to him so that King Richard can kill the fallen hero in front of his former flame, Madalena.
Episode #18 — The One True King (To Unite Them All)
Under Madalena and Wormwood’s spell, the zombie army revolts against Galavant. Meanwhile, Richard goes after Wormwood. Elsewhere, Gareth tries to reason with Madalena, but she is driven to learn how to use her newly acquired dark magic.
First aired: January 31, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Galavant TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
Galavant should absolutely be renewed!!! There is so much crap on tv, it’s refreshing to have such a quality show. Shame on the networks!!!
I love Galavant so so so much, it’s embarrassing! I’m a Galanerd!
NOOOO! Loved this show. BRING IT BACK please. There really isn’t much family TV anymore this was one of our favs.
Galavant should not have been canceled?
My son and I love watching it, and were looking forward to season 3. BRING IT BACK!!!
This was one of my favorite shows
Wonderfully witty and entertaining. Please renew!
Love this show. Please Please don’t cancel it!
Any news? I need to continuing adventures of King Richard, Tad Cooper and the d’dew!
“Galavant” is truly unique, the only musical that I can endure because it is so damned crazy and funny. Who knew that Vinny Jones was funny? The ladies are funny and sexy. They blatantly make modern references and wink at the audience with modern slang. It is all in good fun. I hope to see Season 3.
Good is good, and Galavant is good, there will have to be some cast changes,My vote is Zachary Levi to replace Joshua Sasse who is leaving, but the music, writing and story are fun. If you are a Disnerd, you like Galavant
Love Galavant! So laugh out loud funny. Clever lyrics! So entertaining. Please renew it.
Love it. Ready for 3.
I do not normally care for musicals shows, but this was a very cool show with singing and comedy. I loved it ! Needs to be renewed!!
PLEEEEEZE RENEW Galavant!!!! My husband and I are both Psychologists and we LOVE Galavant. It is hilarious, has a brilliantly funny script, the singers are amazingly talented and, seriously, what other show offers all of this in one show? Americans ‘need’ this show, believe me!! Please Do NOT disappoint the masses who have discovered this show!!
Great show, new and refreshing, keep ’em coming!
