Christian Kane is perhaps best known for playing slimy lawyer Lindsey McDonald on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off, Angel. He and series star David Boreanaz are the only two actors to appear on both the pilot and the series finale. His next show was Close to Home, a legal drama that ran for two seasons on CBS.
These days, Kane is playing Eliot Spencer, the enforcer of the group of con artists on TNT’s Leverage series. The show follows a group of criminals who take pride in bringing down other law-breakers. The show’s already been renewed for year two. In this audio interview, Kane discusses some past, present, and future projects.

The actor also recalls the fateful day, five years ago, when he learned that Angel was cancelled and Joss Whedon’s reaction to the studio’s desire to keep it going. Kane also shares his passionate feelings about his character’s ignoble death and what it was like to work alongside one of his best friends.
We then turn to his work on Close to Home on CBS. Kane played the construction worker husband of the Jennifer Finnegan and it proved to be a much different role than he expected. He talks about why his character was killed off after one season and his experience working with the show’s creator, Jerry Bruckheimer.

Great interview. The interviewer did a really good job of asking questions and not interrupting or anything. That can be rare. And I love how real Christian Kane is in what he says. He is careful not to talk bad about anyone, but it also seems he says what he thinks, if he doesn’t like something he isn’t shy about saying so.

Great interview in spite of the sound issues. Christian has so much enthusiasm and I’ve love his work on both Angel and Leverage. Eliot is a wonderful role for him and it is great to have him back on the air regularly. Thanks for the glimpse into the man behind the actor. He seems like a great guy, fun-loving and loyal to his friends. I’m anxiously awaiting Leverage’s return to the air. I tried to listen to the podcast interview of Christian Kane, but it is so fuzzy I can’t stand it. Why is the sound quality so bad? I’ve played some of the others, they sound find.
