The Challenge 40 Trailer Shows Death-Defying Stunts, Steamy Hook-Ups… and an Injured CT?! — Watch
Four eras, 40 hungry competitors, one explosive trailer!
The first tease for The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras is here and from the looks of it, this is not a season to miss. The drama all kicks off Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 8/7c on MTV, but you can whet your appetite with the action to come by watching the video embedded above.
“Era I started it all,” says host TJ Lavin in the trailer. “Era II introduced Fresh Meat. Era III elevated rivalries and romances, and Era IV brought the game global.” From there it’s cars flying off of cliffs, players leaping off massive buildings, and loads of animosity and resentment. (“How many people f–king hate you?” Tina Bridges shouts — who do we think is on the receiving end of that tirade?)
The trailer also teases a hall brawl, hook-ups, sooo many tears and a few fresh twists, including a new power given to elimination winners that allows them to select the “targets from each era.” There’s also some frightening footage of Challenge champ and fan-favorite CT Tamburello being carried out on a stretcher. Could his game be over before it even starts?
The cast features 10 competitors from each era and is a mix of recent All Stars, flagship players and a few participants we haven’t seen in years. Era 1 has a stacked line-up featuring champs Tamburello, Jodi Weatherton, Darrell Taylor and recent returnee Rachel Robinson. The Era 2 team boasts a player we haven’t seen since she won her only Challenge back in 2006 — Aviv Melmed — plus heavy hitter Emily Schromm and fan favorite Cara Maria Sorbello. Eras 3 and 4 include other familiar faces such as Tori Deal, Leroy Garrett, Nurys Mateo and so many more. (View the full cast list here.)
