CBS Anchor and Saturday Morning Host Jeff Glor Leaving Amid Layoffs
Jeff Glor, who anchored the CBS Evening News for two years before co-hosting CBS Saturday Morning, is leaving CBS News amid a wave of layoffs, according to a report from Puck News‘ Dylan Byers. (TVLine has reached out to CBS for a statement.)
Glor is currently a co-host of CBS Saturday Morning, along with Dana Jacobson and Michelle Miller, a position he’s held since June 2019. Glor also serves as a CBS News special correspondent, traveling the world to report on breaking news stories on location. He has interviewed dozens of authors as well as part of the show’s extensive book coverage.
Glor has been with CBS News since 2007, first serving as a reporter and anchor and filing reports for CBS Sunday Morning and The Early Show, which was later rebooted as CBS This Morning. In December 2017, Glor became the anchor of the CBS Evening News, taking over for Scott Pelley. Glor was then replaced in June 2019, with 60 Minutes correspondent Norah O’Donnell taking his place in the anchor’s chair. That same month, he joined CBS Saturday Morning as a co-host.

Yes, he will be missed. The only reason I got up at 5 on Saturday to watch CBS. He is the best anchor. The 2 women left cannot carry the show.

That CBS Saturday Morning team is golden, and this news is upsetting. Mr. Glor is only intelligent and top-drawer talent, he too has class. He could have acted out following the anchor change in 2019 but he did not. I am sure he will thrive in his career. I wish him well as I do CBS. It always has had the best news department, such depth. Maybe the web can right its ship.
CBS has not made the best choices lately. Cancelling very successful shows and popular newspeople too. If they don’t pay attention to the ratings and the write in suggestions/complaints, what do they think they’re doing?
Good broadcaster. Got screwed by CBS…hopefully he’ll find a friendlier environment, but with network news the way it is, I wonder….
CBS, with its headquarters in NYC, was one of the LEADING national networks for decades. It was golden for anyone in broadcasting to make it to NY! Now, CBS is just a (small) part of a conglomerate. Decisions being made for it elsewhere?
Very sorry Jeff is out, stopped watching the morning show due to Gail obviously it’s who you know not what you know….
He’s on weekend mornings, not with Gail. You missed watching him for absolutely no reason.
Jeff is mainly on Saturday. Gail not on Saturday.
Always watched Saturday Morning, team was great. Do not watch during week because of Gail. So arrogant, so intimidating, she should go !

I had hoped he would have the anchor for Evening News. However that went to Nora ODonnell. He was well qualified for that position.sad that he has missed good positions and that he will be leaving. A great representative of Western New York!!
Another dumb decision by CBS. Will miss him. I really enjoyed the three anchors on Saturday morning. I don’t get how these decisions are made.
O’Donnell undermined him to get the job and now she’s been cut–Karma. I hope Jeff Glor gets hired by another network (ABC, NBC). He was very well liked at CBS.
That’s unfortunate that he’s a victim of the merger, he’s a solid journalist. Watched him over the years, rooted for him when he hosted CBS Evening News and he was really compatible with the crew at CBS Saturday Morning, in fact, it seems like they were competitive in the ratings on Saturdays. According the the Deadline article, “Anna Werner, senior consumer investigative correspondent, and Ben Tracy, senior national and environmental correspondent” were also laid off, hopefully they all find their way elsewhere, they all were great.

Officially done with CBS News now. First they’ve completely ruined CBS Mornings & now letting Jeff Glor go. CBS Saturday Morning was by far the best network morning news program. Very disappointing. I will follow Jeff Glor wherever he lands.

I’m saddened to hear about Jeff Glor exiting the CBS Saturday morning show. I really enjoyed watching him among the 2 cohost ladies. I’m going to miss him.
I really like jeff Glor. I hated to see him replaced by Norah O’Donnell. I was hoping he would be back to take her place. Good luck Jeff.

This is a bad decision! Jeff is a delightful host! His is my favorite Saturday morning show. Can’t you let someone less important and less impressionable go?
Well well well. I wondered when this was coming. I foresee a dismal future for all American network television over the next ten years. Eventually, local stations throughout the country will sign off at midnight to be replaced either by a test pattern, or most likely, snow. Television will soon become a thing of the past except for the super-rich who can go on the air and make up their own news for each other.
I will miss Jeff on CBS Saturday Morning. I liked the interactions between him, Dana, and Michelle. They had a good chemistry with one another, and were fun to watch. I wish they able to find a way to keep them together!

Which incomparison has triple the news reporters on their morning shows? Bad move CBS . I watched CBS Saturday s and really look forward to Jeff and the ladies.

I don’t understand this. CBS Mornings (Saturday) was always winning in the ratings so would think it was making money for the network–yet they cut him–I’d bet the ratings will tank
He is the reason I began watching. I felt he was treated unfairly as the network thought their success was dependent on having a woman in the chair. I do wonder if the decision makers at CBS are out of touch with reality
