Let's Talk 3D Printing with PPS Filament... PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide), a semi-crystalline polymer, offers very remarkable properties as an alternative to metal applications. While it is a very good alternative to PEEK, except for biocompatibility, it does not require very expensive printers with very high specifications for 3D printing. The price per kg is about 1/4 of PEEK. On the other hand, while PPS ULTEM offers similar performance to PEI in many aspects, its coefficient of thermal expansion is even lower than ULTEM, which is preferable. Likewise, PPS ULTEM is ahead of PEI in moisture absorption rate. And, Especially 3D Prints made with Carbon doped PPS Filaments provide very high mechanical strength. Some PPS Features.. Withstands temperatures of 200-220°C in continuous use. It is indispensable for high temperature applications since its thermal expansion coefficient is lower than PEEK and ULTEM. It is the most chemically resistant polymer (does not dissolve in any solvent below 200 °C) Inherently flame retardant and non-flammable. Creep and abrasion resistance is very high. It has superior mechanical properties and high dimensional stability. It is a good electrical insulator and is not affected by high humidity environments.
