Buffalo Bills WR Curtis Samuel had one reception for three yards in Week 2 versus the Miami Dolphins. Samuel was targeted twice.
Huddle Up: Samuel, who had arguably the most name recognition among Buffalo's wideouts coming into this season, is off to a very slow start. Granted, they didn't throw much Thursday night with Josh Allen dealing with a hand injury, but anyone hoping the move away from Washington to a team with a real franchise quarterback would reinvigorate Samuel must be disappointed thus far.

Buffalo Bills RB Ray Davis carried the ball nine times for 29 yards against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, Sept. 12. He had one reception for minus-one yard.
Huddle Up: While Davis got a couple of chances early on, most of his work came late in the game when the Bills were trying to run out the clock, so don't read too much into his low yards per carry. Still, with James Cook off to a strong start, Davis will likely be more of a backup than a complement for now. As such, his fantasy appeal is almost exclusively as a handcuff for Cook owners.

Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman failed to catch his only target in a 31-10 Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins.
Huddle Up: A week after leading the team in receiving yards, the rookie was shut out on Thursday night. Buffalo's comfortable win played a part in Coleman's dud, but Buffalo has taken a run-heavy approach overall. Coleman should be stashed in most leagues, but he needs to be left on the bench until he shows a little consistency.

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir caught five passes on five targets for a team-high 54 yards in a 31-10 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. He also ran once for two yards.
Huddle Up: Buffalo has thrown the ball just 42 times through two games, but Shakir has caught all eight of his targets. For the time being, he appears to be the safest option in the Buffalo passing game, which is no surprise given he's the only wideout that had experience playing with Josh Allen. His long-term outlook is a bit murkier, making him no more than roster depth in standard leagues.

Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid caught all four of his targets for 33 yards against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, Sept. 12.
Huddle Up: Although he improved on his one-catch performance in the opener, Kincaid's numbers still left a lot to be desired. Much of that can be chalked up to a combination of Josh Allen's hand injury, Buffalo building up a three-score lead fairly early on, and Kincaid taking a knee to the side of the head that caused him to spend a couple of series on the sidelines. Despite a slow start, fantasy owners should exercise patience with Kincaid, who still figures to be a big part of the passing game this season.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook rushed 11 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 17-yard touchdown in a 31-10 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 2.
Huddle Up: Cook only logged 12 touches as the Bills cruised to a win, but he certainly made the most of them. He isn't going to find the end zone as frequently as he did against Miami, but Cook is locked into a major role in a potent offense. He should continue to be a steady option all season.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (hand) completed 13 of his 19 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown in a 31-10 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 2. He also ran twice for two yards.
Huddle Up: Just four days after suffering an injury to his non-throwing hand, Allen played a complementary role as the Bills' defense set the tone in yet another lopsided win over the Dolphins. Fantasy owners doubtless came away disappointed, especially after Allen averaged 340 yards passing, 42 yards rushing, and 3.5 total TDs against Miami in 2023, but he avoided taking punishment and now gets extra rest before Buffalo hosts the Jaguars on Monday Night Football in Week 3.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (hand) will play Thursday, Sept. 12, against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2.
Huddle Up: Allen was the QB1 after Week 1, and while there should be some concern about the short week, he's still a top-flight play.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (hand) practiced in full on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Huddle Up: It appears Allen will be good to go for Thursday's AFC East showdown against the Miami Dolphins. The good news is the injury to his non-throwing hand, so his accuracy should not be compromised. While it is possible he could opt to run less to protect himself, it should not be enough to keep Allen from being anything other than an elite QB1 consideration in Week 2.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (hand) has been cleared to play in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins after hurting his non-throwing hand in Week 1, head coach Sean McDermott said Monday, Sept. 9.
Huddle Up: As long as Allen is healthy, he continues to prove he's the top quarterback in fantasy.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook averaged 19.6 touches over the final eight games of 2023, and in Week 1, he faces an Arizona Cardinals defense that allowed the most rushing yards per game last season.
Huddle Up: The Bills will be breaking in some new faces in the receiving corps, so Cook could pick up where he left off last year in terms of his usage. He should be a strong RB2 in the opener.

Buffalo Bills WR Curtis Samuel (toe) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 5.
Huddle Up: Samuel will be one of the starting receivers for the Bills and probably will see a decent amount of targets this week. He can be at least a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

Buffalo Bills WR Curtis Samuel (toe) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4.
Huddle Up: Samuel is in line for a big role in the passing game after signing with the Bills this offseason. He probably will see a good amount of targets this week and could be a possible flex option in deeper leagues.

Buffalo Bills RB Ray Davis has made a believer out of head coach Sean McDermott based on some recent comments. "Very impressed. You could feel him. On TV, it was different. The offensive line was coming off the ball and Ray was making some big-time runs. They were physical. He was physical and almost looking for contact, squaring his pads up to the line of scrimmage. I respect that," McDermott said.
Huddle Up: It is already easy to root for Davis given his upbringing, but he is also making it easy to root for him given the way he plays. While James Cook will undoubtedly begin the season as the starter and Josh Allen will remain involved as a runner on occasion, no one should be surprised if Davis begins to handle the majority of early-down work as the season progresses. Davis is a strong bet to beat his current ADP in the double-digit rounds.

Buffalo Bills WRs Curtis Samuel (toe) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (neck) have "a real good chance" of playing in the season opener versus the Arizona Cardinals, according to head coach Sean McDermott.
Huddle Up: Samuel's return is the much more important one for fantasy purposes, although it is difficult to get overly excited about any receiver trying to return this quickly from turf toe. Fantasy managers are advised to keep him on the bench in most leagues and see how well he can push off his foot before considering him as a starting option in Week 2. Turf toe tends to linger and get worse as the season progresses if it is not allowed to fully heal, which makes Samuel something of a risky bet moving forward.

Buffalo Bills WR Curtis Samuel (toe) is considered week-to-week with turf toe, according to sources Monday, Aug. 19.
Huddle Up: Samuel figured to have a prominent role in the offense so this brings a bit more risk to his profile as a late-round sleeper. This should give a nice bump to Dalton Kincaid, Khalil Shakir and rookie Keon Coleman.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook has been experiencing difficulty holding on to the football at the end of plays during training camp, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. He had a pair of fumbles in the team's practice session Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Huddle Up: Cook will be the Bills' main running back this season and is not in immediate danger of getting benched. However, if he continues to display a propensity to fumble, there is a possibility that RBs Ray Davis and Ty Johnson could see more offensive snaps. For now, Cook can be viewed as a midrange RB1 option in fantasy leagues.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen will play about a quarter in the preseason opener Saturday, Aug. 10.
Huddle Up: Allen was the QB1 last season.. He's still an elite option in drafts, but his stock could take a hit with the questions around him at receiver.

Buffalo Bills WR Curtis Samuel likely will be used in multiple ways in the offensive scheme this season, according to offensive coordinator Joe Brady. "He can play on the outside and on the inside. We can move him around as fast as it can be, just get him the ball in his hands and good things could happen. Whether he is playing receiver or running back, it really doesn't matter. It's just his versatility will be an asset to our offense," Brady said.
Huddle Up: It appears like Samuel will be a big part of the offense this season and could be a valuable option in fantasy leagues. He may not be a weekly starting option in most leagues but can be at least a flex option when the Bills have favorable matchups.

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir may see increased targets from QB Josh Allen because he is the only receiver on the roster that has caught a pass from Allen in a regular season game, in the opinion of BillsWire's Nick Wojton.
Huddle Up: Shakir should be a regular contributor in the passing game for the Bills this season. He can be a late round pick in fantasy leagues but probably will not be a starting option most weeks.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen said he plans to work out with the wide receivers before training camp begins.
Huddle Up: Allen will be working with multiple new receivers this offseason, so any extra time will help with his connection with the pass catchers. Allen is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Free-agent WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Chiefs) agreed to a one-year, $4.5 million deal with the Buffalo Bills Tuesday, May 14. The deal includes a $1.125 million signing bonus.
Huddle Up: MVS will enter a fray of unproven receivers and will need a good camp to have stable fantasy value. Look for him as a depth receiver in fantasy drafts as his deep threat potential matches Josh Allen's gunslinging mentality.

Buffalo Bills RB Ray Davis is a "great complement" to RB James Cook, according to an NFL scout. "He should get a lot of goal-line and short-yardage work, which should result in some touchdowns," the scout said.
Huddle Up: If Davis does establish himself as the short-yardage back, he will be worth grabbing in the later rounds as a handcuff to Cook.

Buffalo Bills WR Curtis Samuel could be used out of the backfield this season by offensive coordinator Joe Brady, who utilized Samuel as a runner while the two were with the Carolina Panthers.
Huddle Up: Samuel saw a career-high 41 carries and ran for 200 yards in 2020 with Brady running the offense in Carolina. Samuel should already have a chance to carve out a solid role in the passing game thanks to Buffalo's overhauled receiving corps, and a few carries a game would only boost his value. He has upside as a flex option.

Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman is expected to be an immediate starter, according to general manager Brandon Beane. "We're going to be counting on him early in his role," Beane said.
Huddle Up: Buffalo's receiving room will look a lot different in 2024, and Coleman will have a chance to become the No. 1 option sooner rather than later. More than anything, a clear path to playing time and targets makes Coleman worth grabbing in the later rounds.

Kentucky RB Ray Davis was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the 128th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: Davis likely will compete for the backup job behind James Cook during training camp and could have an offensive role if he is able to win the job. He can be a late-round pick in fantasy leagues or a handcuff to Cook.

Florida State WR Keon Coleman was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the 33rd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Huddle Up: The Bills lost Gabe Davis this offseason, so Coleman has the chance to earn a good role as a rookie. He probably will see a few targets a game but probably will only be a late round pick in fantasy drafts this upcoming season.

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Chiefs) has received interest from the Los Angeles Chargers.
Huddle Up: A case of the dropsies put him into the doghouse, and he turned in his worst season as a pro with a 21-315-1 line. He could still be a WR4 in fantasy in the right spot.
