🚌 Visit of a group of eco-volunteers and the Association of Bloggers of Tajikistan to the Tigrovaya Balka State Nature Reserve 📅 On the initiative of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, a group of more than 50 eco-volunteers and the Association of Bloggers of Tajikistan visited the Tigrovaya Balka State Nature Reserve in the Dusti district of Khatlon region. ♻ The purpose of organizing such eco-tours is to train and familiarize representatives of the Association of Tajik bloggers and volunteers with protected natural areas, reserves and other objects of ecological significance, to get acquainted with rare flora and fauna and to provide reliable information to the population. ♻ During the visit, the club members had the opportunity to get to know the area better, communicate with industry experts and share their impressions of their trip with their audience. On the other hand, members of the environmental group got acquainted with the activities of the staff of this reserve, the habitats of rare animals, including the Bukhara deer, jungle cat, Bukhara mountain ram (Urial), goitered gazelle (gazelle), water cat, Tajik pheasant, eastern bream, etc. ♻ Another part of the training session consisted of questions and answers, with industry representatives providing specific answers to the many questions asked by the club members. ♻ This step helps raise awareness among journalists who publish materials on environmental issues through audio and video messages, the press and online networks.

🤝 CEP Chairman met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Tajikistan 🔸 On October 7, 2024, a meeting between the Chairman of the Committee Mr. Bahodur Sheralizoda, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Mr. Waleed bin Abdulrahman Al Reshaidan took place in the CEP building. 🔹 During the meeting, the parties discussed the draft agreement between the Committee for Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the exchange of experience between the departments of the two countries, the digitalization of the environmental protection sector and preparation for the UN Conference of the Parties to Combat Desertification COP 16, which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 2 to 13, 2024. 🔸 The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, and the parties reached an agreement to continue mutually beneficial cooperation. #Tajikistan #SaudiArabia #Environment #ClimateChange #Desertification #COP16

♻ The CEP delegation participated in the IUCN Regional Conservation Forum for Europe, North and Central Asia 2024 in Bruges (#RCF) The International Union for Conservation of Nature Regional Conservation Forum for Europe, North and Central Asia (RCF) was held in Bruges, Belgium, from 30 September to 3 October 2024. This Forum was one of the stages in preparation for the #IUCN World Conservation Congress in 2025 in Abu Dhabi. The upcoming Congress is a turning point for the organization in setting directions for the next four-year period. The CEP delegation was represented by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee Mr. Loiq Rahmonzoda. During the event, the delegation delivered a welcoming speech and held several bilateral events, in particular with the Director of IUCN in Europe Boris Erg, and the Director of IUCN in Eastern Europe and Central Asia Oliver Avramoski. The topic of the meeting included membership issues in the IUCN Committee on Conservation. At the same time, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee met with Ms. Gretel Aguilar, Director General of IUCN, and proposed to organize 16 separate events in the CBD COP depending on the Committee's membership in IUCN. IUCN is a global union of government and non-governmental organizations. With more than 1,400 member organizations, it is the international authority on the state of nature.
