Throwback: When Alia Bhatt called Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, and Deepika Padukone as ‘huge sources of inspiration’

Alia Bhatt, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, has made a significant mark since her debut in 2012. Known for her versatility and powerful performances in films like Raazi, Gully Boy, and Gangubai Kathiawadi among others, she has quickly risen to become one of Bollywood's leading actresses. Earlier this year, speaking at a Forbes event, the actress had expressed her admiration for Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, and Deepika Padukone, referring to them as her "huge sources of inspiration." She highlighted their significant contributions to the film industry, stating, "Actresses from the Indian film industry have done that, and have been huge sources of inspiration to me. Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika (Padukone), these are actors who are also friends of mine, but I also admire deeply. So I have to give them a lot of credit because they paved the way in a sense. You know, made it a normal thing" . Alia's remarks came in the context of her own journey in the film industry, particularly her transition to Hollywood. She noted that these actresses have played a vital roles in normalizing international collaborations for Indian actors.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt is currently involved in expanding her cinematic repertoire by starring in the upcoming Spy Universe film Alpha alongside Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, this action thriller will see Alia and Sharvari playing super-agents. Bobby Deol is also set to appear in the film. Reportedly, Anil Kapoor is also a part of the film but there is no confirmation about Anil and Bobby yet. Alia has just returned to Mumbai after finishing a schedule of the film in Kashmir.
Alia is also gearing up for Vasan Bala's Jigra, where she will share the screen with Vedang Raina, who plays her brother. She has co-produced the film with Karan Johar. Additionally, Alia also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, starring alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
