Description: Oscar T. Flint caught fire just after leaving Alpena and burned to the waterline, becoming a total loss about four miles east of the Thunder Bay River mouth. Except for the bow, today much of the ship’s hull is still intact, along with some of the limestone cargo. The anchors and windlass now seen at the bow of the wreck site were reportedly brought there from the wreck of the schooner Lucinda Van Valkenburg.
