Description: Believed abandoned and sunk on purpose, this wreckage consists of a wooden dump scow with two rectangular hopper dump gates. It is situated upside down amongst a debris field that includes anchor and chain and a smaller work scow, 16 feet in length. This wreckage was characterized in 2002 shortly after Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary’s designation and as part of initial expeditions in 2001 and 2002 to map the sanctuary in partnership with Dr. Robert Ballard’s Institute of Exploration and NOAA’s Office of Ocean Exploration and Research.
