10 Funniest Moments In KonoSuba, Ranked

KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world! it’s not just one of the funniest isekai seriesis one of the funniest anime series of all time. Its light-hearted nature, incredible cast of characters, and top-notch writing make it stand out as a comedy series. Satou Kazuma is a normal NEET who spends his days in his room playing video games. When he dies in his past life, he is transported to the next, encountering the Water Goddess Aqua in the process. She tells him he can take anything with him to his new world, and he hilariously chooses the Goddess herself.

It’s a simple premise that gives the show plenty of room to explore hilarious situations. Aqua and Kazuma are pretty funny, but with Megumin and Darkness in the mix, it doesn’t get much better. The four form a comically cohesive group that somehow fails all of its goals successfully, leading to ego-satiating highs, lows and self-inflicted lows. some of the funniest moments KonoSuba.

Kazuma dies again

Eris is very disappointed

Satou Kazuma is no stranger to death. He died once upon arriving in his new world. When he dies now, however, he will have much more at stake. Aqua cannot return to her role as Goddess until the Demon King is defeated, and Kazuma will have to do so. Every time he dies, the rules have to be changed enough to bring him back. The new Goddess, Eris, is in charge of resurrecting Kazuma and She’s not exactly a fan.

Kazuma’s death to the Winter Shogun is quick, as he is decapitated for not listening to Aqua and dropping his sword. When he appears before the Goddess of Luck Eris, he is saddened and the two have a heart-to-heart before the comedy begins. Aqua wants Kazuma back quickly and threatens to take away Eris’s breast pads if she doesn’t allow it. It’s a ridiculous demand that perfectly highlights Aqua’s character and KonoSuba like a spectacle.

Darkness is possessed

Vanir really doesn’t understand

Darkness is one of the main party members in KonoSuba and easily one of the funniest, albeit entirely by accident. Darkness is a masochist who will do almost anything to gain sexual satisfaction. She’s constantly throwing herself into danger to escape, and because of her insane durability, she’s able to survive what would be lethal events without a scratch. When she meets the Archdemon of Hell Vanir, she couldn’t be more excited.

Vanir’s mask ends up on Darkness’s face, giving him the chance to possess his body. While he has her, he makes her feel immense pain and she loves it. The demon is confused and a little disgusted. Although Darkness’s attacks are completely ineffective at harming his opponent, his perversion quickly drives Vanir away. It’s a ridiculous moment that Kazuma has to sit there with a straight face, adding to the hilarity.

Megumin wakes up next to Kazuma

Kazuma may not be as innocent as he seems

Kazuma’s relationship with Megumin is mostly friendly, but has sometimes reached relationship territory. They were close to romance when Megumin woke up next to Kazuma. Although she was initially shocked, his soft-spokenness let her guard down and even made her appreciate her party colleague. Kazuma explained that he was only in the same bed as her because they were frozen. Megumin initially agreed that it wasn’t a bad idea, until she looked out the window and realized they were frozen from the interior.

Kazuma’s bold lie is hilarious, given that Megumin could have simply looked out the window at any time. Not only was he brazen enough to freeze a window from the inside, but he also had the audacity to think that Megumin wouldn’t even check. His angry reaction is hilarious and completely justified, as Kazuma acts like he didn’t do anything wrong.

Kazuma x Mitsurugi 2

Mitsurugi just can’t win

Mitsurugi is another Japanese person who was reincarnated in the world of KonoSuba. Unlike Kazuma, when Mitsurugi was being transported, he took his new role seriously. He is one of the strongest characters KonoSuba because of his cursed sword and his Swordmaster class. Unfortunately for Mitsurugi, he can’t seem to beat Kazuma. When Mitsurugi is defending Iris from the Silver-Haired Thief Brigade, he loses once again to Kazuma.

Kazuma defeats Mitsurugi by first tricking him, then making him slip on ice, and then throwing waves of water at his face. It’s a hilariously disrespectful defeat that suits their dynamic perfectly. Mitsurugi is supposed to be a brilliant knight, but when Kazuma is around, he’s a joke. Mitsurugi’s preparation for the fight makes everything even funnier, as he was completely outclassed in a completely underhanded way.

6

Alligator attack

Aqua had a rough day

Aqua is an Arch Priest and has unique abilities related to healing and cleansing. It’s her job to clean a lake that the group is tasked with overseeing, but she needs to be at the lake to clean it. Trouble comes in the form of crocodiles prowling the waters, but Kazuma is “smart” enough to place Aqua in a crocodile-proof cage to protect her. It’s such a ridiculous idea that it’s funny on paper. Aqua is forced to sit half-submerged in water, constantly being attacked by crocodiles, singing “Purification” the entire time.

It’s a great moment in the show because it’s simple. Aqua cares more about money than most things, and she is so greedy that she is willing to sit in a crocodile cage to get some. She completes the mission, but not without leaving completely traumatized.

5

Dark Reputation Ruined

Kazuma’s new ability was very useful

Darkness is masochistic and not exactly a secret. Most people know about her perversions, so when Kazuma breaks into her room and imitates her, the guards waiting outside the door can’t get enough. Kazuma sneaks into Darkness’ room and uses one of his thief skills to perfectly imitate her voice. The guards outside hear a commotion and want to go in, but Kazuma, in the voice of Darkness, comes up with some hilariously dirty lies.

Kazuma convinces the guards that the noise came from the Dark’s perverted acts and that they are not allowed to enter. He goes into extreme detail, getting great reactions from the guards. Some of the guards are horrified, others are amazed. It’s a funny moment because of how absurd it is and how well Kazuma is able to act.

4

Darkness is cursed

The Dullahan is worried

It’s never a good sign when the enemy is acting strange. The Dullahan is one of the Demon King’s generals and one of his strongest forces. When he arrives in the city, he threatens to bring his army with him, placing a terrible curse on Kazuma. Darkness intercepts him, much to the Dullahan’s surprise and his own delight. Darkness then makes up a masochistic story about how the Dullahan now needs her to follow him, and he couldn’t be more uncomfortable.

The Dullahan’s reaction to the Darkness’ speech is great. He begins the scene as a vibrant, menacing enemy before transforming into a scared, frightened victim. Instead of leaving the city victorious, the Dullahan runs away in shame. It’s an awkward moment for everyone except Darkness, who was just a little disappointed that she didn’t end up with the Dullahan.

3

Slow pauses for added effect

An economical way to extend the joke

Some of the funniest jokes don’t need a big joke to laugh, and KonoSuba proved this when Kazuma and Aqua become the most insufferable people ever. The pair have recently made some money, so they decide to go into town and enjoy a nice meal. The food is so good that they call the chef to praise his cooking. They keep assuming that the food and wine must be high quality, and when the chef assures them that it isn’t, they pause for a long time in their response.

It’s a hilarious joke that takes a page Gintama book. The chef has to disappoint them several times, but the duo doesn’t give up. The hilarity doesn’t stop with the pause, as Kazuma generously tells the chef to save the change for a tip once he pays. The chef quickly responds that it is the exact change.

2

Reflecting on the Orb

Megumin and Yunyun’s secrets revealed

Yunyun just wants to be friends with her fellow Crimson Demon Megumin. The two meet at Wiz’s magic shop and find a crystal that makes them friends. They use the crystal ball only to find that it makes them friends, revealing their most embarrassing memories. Yunyun’s are about her being constantly alone, making friends and playing games alone. Megumin shows her scavenging and hunting for food for herself and her younger sister.

The two awkward moments juxtaposed make each other funnier. Yunyun’s is simply sad, while Megumin’s is strange and incomprehensible. Aqua, Wiz, and Kazuma’s reactions are perfect as everyone is surprised by how strange everything they are seeing is. In a moment of desperation, Yunyun hilariously asks if this moment will make her friends with Megumin. Megumin responds by breaking the ball.

1

The Ideal Man of Darkness

One of the best speeches in the anime

Darkness sees the world in a very… different way than the rest of her friends. While everyone may want a kind partner who respects them, Darkness’ ideal man is someone a little different. When Kazuma and the gang try to help her stop her marriage to Alderp, she tells them exactly who she would rather marry. Darkness’ description of her ideal man is insane in the funniest way possible. She so confidently describes the worst kind of man that Kazuma and Aqua’s jaws hit the floor.

In a speech similar to Erwin’s before the Survey Corps faced death, Darkness talks about a loser who treats her even worse than he treats himself. It’s the funniest moment in the series because of how in keeping with Darkness’ character and how well written the speech is. It’s direct, absurd, and most of all, totally hilarious.
