Beginning in September, 2024, I am a first-year PhD student and Elia Scholar at York University.
I received my B.A. (hons.) at the University of Manitoba's department of English, Theatre, Film and Media in 2018, where I also graduated with my M.A. in English in June 2023. I studied authorship and social media for my master's thesis, applying film theory and literary theory to the study of internet video.
I served as editor of the comment section, and eventually as acting managing editor, of the Manitoban, the University of Manitoba's student newspaper. I am a regular contributor at the Leveller and have a book review forthcoming in The Malahat Review this fall.
I am the author of a forthcoming article (Fall 2024) on Ari Aster's Midsommar in the New Review of Film and Television Studies, and I am the co-author of "Making Things Together: Collaborating and mentoring on an OER project" in IDEAH (doi:10.21428/f1f23564.0576ee6f).
Aside from my academic writing, I have professional experience as a public humanities communicator. I am the co-founder and co-producer of the podcast Victorian Samplings, a part of the SSHRC-funded Crafting Communities project, wherein I interviewed academics, curators, artists, and other experts on Victorian material culture.
