My PhD focused on how nurses use cognitive Learning Principles in parent education practice, mapping how to help parents to develop thinking, reasoning and problem solving skills, required to be confident and capable to deliver ongoing health care to their children. The Action research study found nurses' practice and parents learning needs aligned with the Dimensions of Learning Framework. The resource guide to enable this process aids HPs, patients and families to build their skills and interactive health literacy to optimise their leaning experiences.
