The Big See White

New, Changing or Unusual? It Could Be Skin Cancer.

Three simple words – NEWCHANGINGUNUSUAL – are the heart of The Big See®, the skin cancer early detection initiative that provides clear, easy guidance on the three things to look for on your skin and what to do next.

Skin cancer is the cancer you can see. Yet skin cancer often goes undetected until it’s too late. The Big See (a play on ‘The Big C’) aims to inspire you to open your eyes, get to know your skin and check yourself from head-to-toe once a month. If you see something new, changing or unusual, go get checked by a dermatologist. It could save your life.

The Big Three from The Big See
Here’s what to look for when you’re looking for skin cancer:

What’s that,
something new?

1. Keep an eye out for any NEW moles or blemishes that have popped up – especially if they appear after age 21.

A leopard’s spots don’t change, and neither should yours!

2.  Always check if your spots are CHANGING in color, shape, size or texture.

One of these things
is not like the others…

3. Look for spots that are UNUSUAL in outline or continuously itch, hurt, crust or bleed for more than three weeks.
