[Background of Recruitment]
The supply chain manager is responsible for overseeing the material control process within and across plants. This includes ensuring schedules of material availability and operational efficiency. The role involves managing a team, coordinating with various departments such as production, planner, and logistics, and optimizing the use of resources to meet the company’s strategic goals.
[Job Description]
Material Management:
- Oversee material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure materials are available
for production and meet inventory targets. Work closely with procurement to
ensure timely sourcing of materials, negotiate terms with suppliers, and manage
inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock.
Process Optimization:
- Continuously analyze and improve production and material control processes to
increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. Implement best -
practices in lean manufacturing, just-in-time (JIT) production, and inventory
management.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks in the production and material supply chain, including
potential bottlenecks, material shortages, and demand fluctuations. Develop
contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and maintain production
continuity.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with production, engineering, sales, and logistics teams to ensure
alignment on production goals, material needs, and delivery timelines. Facilitate
communication between departments to address any issues that may impact
production schedules or material availability.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of planners, schedulers, and material controllers,
providing guidance and support to achieve departmental and organizational
objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
within the PMC team.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Generate and analyze reports on production performance, inventory levels, and
material usage to inform decision-making and strategic planning. Utilize ERP
systems and other analytical tools to monitor KPIs and drive data-driven
improvements.
[Requirements]
Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in material control or supply chain management,
with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in computing
industries.
Skills and Competencies:
- Supply Chain Expertise: Solid understanding of production scheduling, material
requirements planning (MRP), inventory management, and supply chain
principles.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in
using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MES, Power BI) and advanced Excel for data
analysis.
- Strategic Planning: Strong strategic thinking ability to align production and
material control with overall business objectives.
- Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
to achieve high performance in a dynamic environment.
- Cross-Geographic Organization Collaboration: Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with headquarters
and overseas manufacturing plants.
