Jared Anderson swam for nearly twenty years. Then, Jared Anderson stopped swimming and started writing about swimming. He’s not sick of swimming yet. Swimming might be sick of him, though.
Jared was a YMCA and high school swimmer in northern Minnesota, and spent his college years swimming breaststroke and occasionally pretending to swim IM at the University of Minnesota. Undeterred by losing to Cody Miller all the time, Jared continued to compete after college, swimming at U.S. Olympic Trials in 2012 and 2016.
He now coaches a high school team in Minnesota while working as SwimSwam’s senior reporter.
