Site Performance: Seeing a Flash of Color As Elements Load

As your site loads, it first loads the background color and then loads the background image. This also applies to elements that have background colors, such as strips and slideshows. In most cases, the background image loads fast enough that you do not see the background color at all.
In some cases, if you are using a slower internet connection or if your background image/video is very large, it might take a second for the background to load and, therefore, you see the background color flash before the image or video loads.
Changing the background color of your page, strip or slideshow will stop you seeing a color flash as your page loads.
We recommend choosing a background color as similar as possible to the color of your background, strip or slideshow image. Depending on which element has a flash of color, change the background of your:
Changing your page background color:
- Click the Background icon on the left side of the Editor.
- Click the flap at the top left of the background image preview.
- Select a color from the color picker or click Add Color to add a new color.
- Close the color picker.
Important:
Make sure to apply this change to all pages on your site using this background image. Click Apply to Other Pages at the bottom of the Page Background panel to do so.
Changing your slideshow background color:
- Click the slideshow in the Editor.
- Click Change Slide Background.
- Click the flap at the top left of the background image preview.
- Select a color from the color picker or click Add Color to add a new color.
- Close the color picker.
- Click Apply to Other Slides.
Changing your strip background color:
- Click the strip in the Editor.
- Click Change Strip Background.
- Click a Color background type.
- Select a color from the color picker or click Add Color to add a new color.
- Close the color picker.
