Tidal scrobbling not working

Hi guys,

Has anyone managed to connect Tidal to Last.fm? I recently switched from Spotify and I am using tidal iOS and MacOS app. I connected my last fm account and I see no errors. When I am playing a song it's available straight away in last.fm as 'Scrobbling now' but as soon as it finishes it just dissapears from last.fm like it's never been scrobbled. The song that is currently playing is always displayed in Overview - Recent Tracks but never visible as soon as it's finished so it's affecting my stats.

I have the same problem but with YouTube Music. I tried a local Danish streaming service as well with the same result

Is the music being played directly on that device, or is it being wirelessly streamed (via Bluetooth, AirPlay, etc.) using TIDAL Connect to another device? We are experiencing this problem only with wireless devices when Scrobbling with Tidal Connect.

Wow, I would have never guessed that this is the edge case with the casting. If I listen to music on the native app on MacBook or iPhone it's all recorded fine but what's the point being able to stream this wirelessly on better equipment and not being able to scrobble.

Checked the issue you linked and I am dissapointed with their reply. Hopefully they will fix it soon

How do you connect YouTube music app to last.fm? I thought YT music don't have official connect feature with Last.fm and it's only possible if you're listening to YT in a browser and using so chrome plugin

Hopefully they will fix it soon

Not sure if you read this part:

After further review, we've confirmed that it is expected behavior that when you're connected to a TIDAL Connect device, it will not scrobble and does not require additional troubleshooting.

So from their point of view, there is nothing to fix...

It's also been irregularly working for me on the normal desktop app. Some scrobbles just won't go through, and it never seems to be consistent when it strikes or with what songs, and I can't recognize any sort of pattern in a scrobble not being recognized. It's especially frustrating when playing a long album or an album with a lot of songs.

If those missing scrobbles contain terms like file extensions, "unknown" etc., they will be blocked by the Last.fm submission server. Another reason could be shorter tracks than 30 seconds.
