This is perhaps the most telling sign Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck‘s marriage is headed for divorce, as the rumors have suggested. The couple, known collectively as Bennifer, have been married for two years—speculation that it’s already over has been circulating for months.
Multiple outlets report that J-Lo was spotted riding a bike around the Hamptons on July 16—she’s been spending a lot of time on the Long Island coast of New York without Ben recently. Her husband, meanwhile, was seen in Los Angeles.
While couples spending time apart is generally no cause for alarm, the date is important. July 16 is Ben and J-Lo’s second anniversary of their Vegas wedding. Remember they did have a second wedding on August 23, 2022, at Ben’s home in Riceboro, Georgia. That was an anniversary J-Lo acknowledged on her Instagram last year, so maybe they’re holding out until that date to celebrate another year of marriage.
On July 15, a source close to the couple told ET, “Jen and Ben have been trying to focus on their loved ones while spending time apart,” they said. “Jen and Ben are both keeping their kids and respective families at the forefront of their minds as they move through these changes.”
Speculation that the couple was inching towards a breakup began circulating in mid-May, 2024, then in early June, news broke that Affleck and J-Lo’s marital home in Beverly Hills had hit the market. Sources told TMZ that the asking price for the 12 bedroom, 24 bathroom home is around $65,000,000, which after brokers fees, capital gains tax, etc, the couple stands to lose millions of dollars. Apparently, no buyer has been found yet, but it’s in the early days.
