Katie Holmes became a household name when she snagged the role of Joey Potter in the hit series Dawson's Creek.
In her first few years of stardom, Holmes' style became a reflection of her girl-next-door persona – often sporting low rise jeans and flouncy dresses.
Over time, the actresses style has developed with her career and she is often seen channeling sophisticated elegance in power pantsuits and minimalist dresses.
Let's take a look back at her stunning style evolution...
Katie Holmes has been making her subtle yet significant re-emergence into the fashion world lately.
The Dawson's Creek star has a casually chic sense of style, and this was on full display during an appearance at Paris Fashion Week.
The 45-year-old has enjoyed a big few weeks after time spent in Paris and her daughter Suri's high school graduation.
While Holmes is a constant in her 18-year-old daughter's life, Suri is rarely seen in public alongside her famous mum.
Instead, Holmes prefers to go solo – often a conscious decision on her part.
In 2023, Holmes revealed to Glamour that she likes to "protect" Suri from the public eye "because she was so visible at a young age."
A few months earlier, during New York Fashion Week in February 2024, Holmes embraced her feminine side with this dreamy lace two-piece look, which she dressed down with a grungy pair ot black boots.
Elsewhere during NY Fashion Week, Holmes rocked the Canadian tuxedo with a pair of jeans and a pale matching jacket.
She added another bomber jacket on top to complete the unique look.
While making an appearance at the Ulla Johnson show, Holmes was dressed perfectly to welcome the season of Autumn in the U.S.
She was snapped sporting a stunning burgundy dress, detailed with black accessories.
Homles looked chic with her tiny nose ring barely visible as she posed at Fashion Week.
The star spoke out after going viral for what critics called a 'fashion faux pas'.
Holmes stepped out for the 2022 Jingle Bell Ball wearing a casual pair of jeans, a satin bustier reminiscent of the 00s and a pair of sneakers.
What ensued was collective hysteria over a trivial outfit, with many declaring the dress-over-jeans look a Y2K trend revival of the worst kind.
Holmes finally addressed the media circus in an interview with Glamour in which she said:
"Come on, women, let's hold each other up here," she said.
"Let's look a little bit past what we're wearing. That's our duty amongst each other.
"I feel like the woman's journey is deeper."
